Finn looked me deep in the eyes. Deeper than I ever knew someone could look at me.

I looked back and forth between his eyes, unable to speak, his gaze steady.

"Please- just tell me... Is there a reason for me to hope?"

I felt like I could hear his heart pounding with mine.

"Y-yes," I breathed.

Finn looked at me a moment longer and his eyes started to light up, to come to life like I hadn't seen in weeks.

"Yes, there is more than reason-" I nodded and stepped towards him, more tears falling.

In one motion we were in each other's arms.

I wrapped my arms tightly around his waist and he held me to his chest. His heart was hammering against my ear.

He squeezed me tighter and I yelped at the pain in my back.

"Oh my god! I'm so sorry!" Finn exclaimed and pushed me to arm's length.

He looked at me like I had broken in half but the pain was already gone.

Now it was my turn to burst out laughing.

I felt all the stress and tension of these last two months melt away.

I felt free of the worries and fears that plagued me night and day.

I felt absolutely giddy and light.

I laughed even harder.

Finn looked at me like I was crazy for a second and then joined in.

We both laughed and looked at each other, glowing.

Reaching up with my hand I ran it through his hair like I had always wanted to do.

He grabbed my hand as it left his hair and kissed my palm.

A pulse of energy radiated from the kiss down my arm and to my stomach.

Finn's face sobered as he saw the look in my eye.

A look I didn't try at all to hide.

Taking my face in his hands he gently pulled me to him as he bent towards me.

Ever so softly he put his lips to mine.

Sparks filled me entirely. It was even better than I remembered

And then, much much too soon, he pulled away.

The sparks lingered and danced on my lips.

I opened my eyes and he still held my face.

He smiled widely at me looking so boyish my heart melted.

But when he didn't move closer again I was upset.

"Is that all?" I asked pouting.

I was not nearly done and hoped he wasn't.

He laughed.

"You're still healing..." he said, smiling mischievously, and stroked my hair.

"Oh come on, that was daaaays ago," I rolled my eyes and stepped a little closer.

His lips were inches from mine but he stopped.

"I really don't want to accidentally hurt you, Rowan," Finn said looking horribly conflicted.

"You won't," I said and pushed myself against him firmer.

He sighed heavily.

"You're killing me..." Finn inhaled deeply and closed his eyes.
