"Hey! Did you see that?" a young teenager, hair bleached in a shade of ash blonde, hollered. His startled yelp was successful in turning a few heads as a taller man skipped down the small flight of stairs, a piece of wet cloth in his hands.

"Boy, you get distracted easily, don't you?" The older male scoffed, voice stern yet soft in a playful scolding. Bunching the fabric of his wife beater, he pulled the younger back and away from the metal rail.

"She seems mad, don't go near the edge." Hyun frowned, now facing the feral sea, he gripped the iron bar and leaned over to peer at the swollen crest of the ocean. A shiver of icy fear tensed his spine, knuckles turning white in gradual and steeply rising wave of panic.

"How do you know, it's a 'She'?" Jun mumbled, trudging forward to pull the older away from the loosely fitted metal bar. Placing his chin over the elder's broad shoulder, he sighed-feeling his hair being swept backwards by the velocious coastal breeze.

"I don't, but that's not the concern right now. She is mad. You see these tides, feel how they crash against Mary (the ship), it's her way of warning us." The younger's face twisted in a look of horror, a pit of fear been dug in his stomach and he felt the fear spike his senses. He was lost, he wanted to believe that his senior was babbling nonsense, but he knew that was far from truth.

Jun stepped aside and turned to scan the older man's frown and he saw the dread in his eyes, he saw his face losing colour.

There was a moment of silence, when the waves turned calm and the water gently lapped against the cargo ship. Hyun stood still, his face basking in the tangerine glow of eventide.

The sun had begun sinking under the waves of salt and navy, the last ray of shine casting a shadow of molten amber over the crown of the burbling tide.

"TURN TO STARBOARD!" Jun stumbled back, heart hammering against his chest.

Hyun held the command of the ship, the raw panick of his words had the entire crew shuffling and running around the deck to make the arrangements.

"We need to get out of here," Hyun cursed under his breath and turned to run up to the control room.

But it was too late.

"I want all the hands on deck, hurry up lads!" Jun blinked, eyeing the tensed back of his senior. A group of men rushed to get Mary, to turn starboard. The propellers synced back to life as the enormous blades started cutting through the water, making way for the vessel to change its course of destination.

The young boy dared to peer at the churning water.

A mistake.

A blur of white flashed under the churning tide, it seemed like a fish. Almost human-like, it seemed to have feminine physique.
