Chapter 20

I'm trying to update for last 3 days but there's something problem with Wattpad. Finally today I am able to do it

Mrs. Lan sensed the tense atmosphere and tried to make it easy .

"A- Ren, what are you talking about? How sweet boy A-Xian is. It's everyone's honor to meet him." Jiang Cheng tried to control his laugh when he heard that.

"I'm not quite sure about that" Lan Qiren said as he looked at Wei Ying who is now grinning ear to ear.

"Lan Loushi!! How can you say that!! You know how much I missed you?!! I'm sure you missed me too right? " Wei Ying pouted.

" If I did, then I have serious problem in my brain! "

" You need heart to miss someone Lan Loushi not brain"

" You-" Lan Qiren somehow calmed himself to not loose his face in front of guests. Then he spoke again,

"He was my student.Most unruly and indiscipline student I have ever seen in my teaching life! " He looked at others and sensed that no one is really okay with what he just said ,he sighed.

"...But I can't deny the fact that he is also the most talented and intelligent student of all." Now everyone back to normal.

"Aiya ! A-Ren, kids are supposed to do some fun. That's not a big deal!" Mrs. Lan laughed .

'kid my foot' Lan Qiren muttered under his breath.

A maid came to inform that the dinner is ready so they went for it. While the food was serving , another person came making Jiang Cheng choke on air.

" I really apologize for being late. I had some urgent work in college. I'm Lan Xichen , Wangji's elder brother." Lan Xichen said with his ever lasting smile .

"It's really fine. We are happy that you still made time to come between your work." Jiang Fengmian spoke.

"I'm also glad to finally meet the person who is capable of making my stoic brother smile " Everyone laughed at that.

He sat down on right of Lan Wangji and Wei Ying was on the left side. Jiang Cheng is in front of Wei Ying who is right now thinking about digging up a hole on the floor and hide there but poor him, he got caught before he could start digging.

Lan Xichen at first was stunned then he remembered Jiang Cheng is Wei Ying's brother. He flashed a smile at his A-Cheng who just  pretended to not see it.

He  felt so sad. Jiang Cheng suddenly had been distance with Lan Xichen for days. He had hardly spoken a word to him just for work and had barely even looked at him, and Lan Xichen was beginning to get frustrated.

The dinner was finished peacefully since the Lans doesn't talk much while eating. It was actually they don't talk while eating but since Mrs. Lan came into Lan family who can't bear silence ,so they talk a little for her sake.

After eating, everyone settled on the living room. Suddenly Jiang Cheng excused himself for going to the restroom. The person who was eyeing him the whole time silently follow him. Lan Xichen found his A-Cheng on the front porch instead of the restroom with a bottle of whiskey in his hand that he took from the table on his way here. As Lan Xichen approached he took a swig of his drink.

“ I was wondering does people need whiskey in the restroom  but it looks like that wasn't your destination. Why weren’t you inside with others?” Lan Xichen asked folding his arms not knowing exactly what to do with his body. Was Jiang Cheng upset with him? Had he done something wrong? he had to find out.

“Wanted to drink my dinner,” Jiang Cheng smirked.

“Why have you been so distant lately, and frankly drinking so much?” He noticed that Jiang Cheng would always go to bar after work and drink by himself. He didn't follow him, he really didn't, he somehow ended up there. You know magic!

Jiang Cheng was sitting on one of the white rocking chairs. He stopped rocking,  didn’t look up at Lan Xichen; instead, he took another sip of whiskey.

“I can’t stand this coldness from you,” Lan Xichen said kneeling down and holding onto Jiang Cheng’s legs. “I want to know what happened. What did I do?”

(A/N: does he thinks it's his house?! The host is standing and he is rocking 🌚 Where are the manners?! )

Finally, Jiang Cheng turned his head and locked eyes with Xichen. His brows raised and head tilted to the side. “Do? Huan-ge, you didn’t do anything. Well… Not really.”

“What does that mean A-Cheng?”

Jiang Cheng sighed and lifted the bottle to his lips but Xichen took it away and placed it out of reach. “You really wanna know?”

“Yes I do,” Lan Xichen said firmly.

“I think I’m in love with you, and that scares the hell out of me.”

A smile flashed across Lan Xichen’s lips. “You love me?”

Jiang Cheng nodded as his eyes began to water ever so slightly.

“Why are you so hesitant, A-cheng? Please, you can tell me.”

Another deep sigh escaped his lips. “Because I’ve never felt this way about anyone before Huan-ge. What if… What if I mess up and what if I’m not good enough for you. What if you don't like me back” Jiang Cheng then stood and he walked to the railing and stared out onto the street in front of him.

Lan Xichen followed him to the railing standing beside him. “Jiang Cheng I feel the same way. I love you. I’ve just been waiting to tell you cause I was nervous and afraid of getting rejected. ”

Jiang Cheng’s head turned quickly to look up at his crush. “Really?”

“Yes,” Lan Xichen said using his hands to turn Jiang Cheng’s shoulder so that they were facing each other. “I’m scared too, A-Cheng. But if we do this together we don’t have to be so worried.”

Jiang Cheng looked into Xichen’s eyes and smiled. He then stood on tiptoe and captured Xichen’s lips in a passionate kiss catching him by surprise.

Wei Ying’s voice came from the doorway. “Eww get a room you two.”

The two broke apart blushing and grinning like idiots. Then Jiang Cheng spoke up. “Hey, I have a right to kiss my boyfriend! We love each other after all!”

Lan Xichen beamed. ' he called me his boyfriend'

“Oh my god, you finally said it?” Wei Ying rushed back inside shouting startling everyone.

“A-Jie, you owe my 500 yuan!”
