Lydia pov

I woke up in daddy's arms with him snoring loudly. It was Saturday morning so I didn't have my tutor thank god. Daddy had a very long night and now he has a woman in his life, he needs his beauty sleep. Careful not to wake him, I slowly climbed out of bed and went into my room. I got ready for the day and decided to wear my blue summer dress. Since it was supposed to me a nice day today.

"Ello love" Uncle Arthur's voice boomed making me jump a mile

"You scared me" I said going to sit on his knee

"Sorry darling" he apologised kissing my head. He went back to reading his newspaper with whiskey in his hand. Daddy came down half an hour later in just his underwear

"Not getting dressed?" Uncle Arthur asked chuckling

"I will in a minute. Starving" he answered grabbed a piece of Uncle Arthur's toast from the plate. He gave me a kiss on the head and then walked back upstairs

"So whats the woman like?" My uncle asked me

"She's really nice. Her names Nessa Johnson. She has a son called Dan. He's my new friend. She looks daddy's age maybe younger. She has blonde hair and she's really pretty. I hope dan becomes my brother" I told him smiling brightly

"Really? Maybe he will darling" Uncle Arthur replied happily

"So I take it you and Dan are working together to make your daddy and this Nessa have a relationship" he implied

"Yep. I saw him the other day at the park. His mum was really nice so we decided to get them together. He gave me the number for his house phone and he has our house number. I think it's working" I replied

"I hope it does work. Your dad is a good boy. Deserves a beautiful lady by his side. Other than you of course" he said making me smile

Finn pov

When I was dressed I went downstairs to lydia and Mt eldest brother who had made himself at home. I bet he will stay here for atleast a week before remembering he doesn't live here. As I was walking down the stairs, I heard yelling

"Finn"

"Miss we can't let you through"

"I need to speak with finn" it was Nessa. I ran down the stairs to see her being held back by some of my men who were guarding the house

"Let her go" I ordered. They did so and Nessa waisted now time in running towards me.

"Oh finn thank god. You've got to help me. I woke up and i couldn't find Dan anywhere." She screamed trying to hold back the tears. I could tell she was about to hyperventilate so I hugged her to my chest and rubbed her back

"It's alright. We'll find him" I said to her. Arthur had called everyone to come over so after 10 minutes, every peaky blinder and my family were stood in my living room whilst they passed around a picture of Dan. They all left to check the places required

"Dan's missing?" Lydia asked after eavesdropping

"It's alright baby girl. We are going to find him now" I told her

"Can I help?" She asked. I hesitated for a moment before allowing it. She tried to smile but I saw the pain and worry in her eyes. It was too powerful to hide. Me, Nessa and Lydia went to check the woods where Nessa said Dan would like to play with his friends sometimes. As we walked through the trees and fallen leaves, I saw Nessas hand shake. To calm her, I slipped our hands together and gripped tightly. She looked up at me in shock but smiled sadly.

"Look" Lydia yelled pointing to something. I moved closer to where she was standing and followed her line of sight. There were some kids abut further away climbing a tree.

"That's Edward and Charles. Dan's friends" nessa stated. I walked closer to the boys. They stopped their chatter and stared at us.

"Have you seen Dan?" Lydia asked them

"He was playing with us this morning. But he said he had to get home. Is he not back yet?" One of the boys with darker hair answered

"What time was this?" I asked

"Bout 8 o'clock when he left" the other replied. I checked my watch knowing it was much later.

"Quarter to 11" I muttered quietly in annoyance

"He should have been back hours ago" nessa panicked

"Have you checked the den?" One of the boys asked Lydia. I saw her face light up in realisation. Without a word, she ran off with us trying to catch up with her. After 5 minutes of running through trees, Lydia stopped outside a Fort made of wooden planks and old blankets

"You can't go in. Kids only" she said. Im guessing this is something most if not all kids on the block knew about. I watched as Lydia went inside the den. She was in there for 5 minutes before walking out. After a minute, Dan walked out aswell

"Oh thank heavens" nessa cried as she picked up Dan in a tight hug. Once she'd put him down, she clipped him round the ear and asked

"Where have you been? Why didn't you atleast leave a note to tell me you were with friends?"

"I was going home. But then I saw dad. And he was drunk again. He said he saw you with a man last night. I know it's finn so I didn't care. But then he said I wasn't your little boy anymore because you have him" he said with tears in his eyes. I watched as Nessas face fell at the mention of the pairs father

"That man is a moron. Don't listen to a word he says. And I promise, you will always be my little boy. I like finn. Alot. If you don't want me to see him then-" but he interrupted

"I want you to date eachother. I just got upset seeing dad" I ruffled his hair and he hugged me

"Shall we get you home and something to eat" nessa said standing up to her usual height rather than crouched infront of dan. Lydia ran further infront playing with Dan as I held Nessas hand trailing behind

"I'm sorry for worrying for no reason. I really caused a fuss" she apologised sheepishly looking down

"Don't be. It's understandable. And if you didn't act that way then we might not have found him and something could've happened. Its only natural to he scared for the kids" I told her. She stopped us and went on her tip toes. Our lips connect but the moment was ruined when two voices said

"Eeewww" we pulled apart laughing at the kids.

"Right come on. You can come back to ours and play together" I told them ushering them to keep walking

"You mean so you can play together" Lydia remarked

"Shut up" I said simply
