Chapter 18: From The Desert Comes A Stranger

The modified starfighter gets out of hyperspace and flies towards the planet. Din steers the ship into the planet as (y/n) looks out of the window at the planet. The ship enters the planets atmosphere and they fly through the air. 

At one point, there was a beeping noise coming from the console just as (y/n) gasped as she sensed Grogu and the Jedi, who they found out was called Luke Skywalker. Din the moves the ship over then lowers it as he comes up to the signal.

He lands the ship and the hatch opens then he gets out of the ship. Din turns around and helps (y/n) out before they turn and see the R2 Droid, who was the one that sent the signal to them. "Hello, friend." Din greets the droid as they walk up to it. "We're looking for Skywalker." (Y/n) said and R2 beeps at them. 

"We came to see the kid, Grogu." Din said and R2 beeps again then starts to go the opposite direction. "After you." Din said and (y/n) walks ahead of him and they follow the R2 Droid.

Minutes later, the R2 droid leads them through a forest area then they come upon a clearing and see a lot of Ant Droids crawling around, each of them were carrying large boulders. The Droid leads the hunters up to a hill where it looked like the Ant Droids were building some sort've temple.

"Is this where they are?" Din asked as R2 beeps at the Ant Droids and one of them responds back to him. Then R2 stands up and turns itself off. Din and (y/n) turn to the droid and see that he isn't moving. "Hey. Droid. Hey. Don't shut off. Wake up." Din said as he waves his hand in front of R2 but the droid doesn't respond. (Y/n) sighs and Din shakes his head.

Then (y/n) turns to the Ant Droids. "Hey, we're looking for Skywalker. He had a kid with him." She said then they look around and noticed an Ant Droid building a large bench for the two. "Is that a bench?" (y/n) asked but the droid doesn't say anything as it finishes building the bench.

Din sighs, heavily, at this. "How long will we be waiting?" Din asked but nothing. "Is anyone here? Anyone alive?" (y/n) calls out but the droid kept on building the temple. "Can't you...sense him or...Skywalker?" Din asked her and (y/n) stands there, takes a deep breath and closes her eyes, trying to sense anyone. She could feel something, it was the same power she felt back when they first met Skywalker.

She opens her eyes then looks over at Din. "I can sense them but...I don't know where they are." She replied and Din's shoulders slump. "I'm sorry." She said. "It’s okay..." Din said and he goes over to the bench and sits down. (Y/n) sits down next to him and leans her head against his shoulder as the two wait.

The two hunters kept waiting but Skywalker nor Grogu came up to them. Eventually, Din lays down on the bench and (y/n) lays down next to him and the two fall asleep. It wasn't til they heard a noise that both of them woke up and aimed their guns, only to see Ahsoka.

"You." they said as Ahsoka smiles. "We didn't expect to see you here." Din said. "I'm an old friend of the family." she replied. "I thought you weren't going to help train Grogu." (y/n) said, confused. "I'm not. Master Luke is." Ahsoka said.

"Then what are you doing here?" Din asked her and she looks at the hunters, curiously. "That's my question for you." She said. "We're here to see the kid." (Y/n) said, firmly, and Ashoka nods. "That's why R2 brought you to me instead." She laughs and Din looks around the forest.

"What is this place?" he asked. "There's nothing now, but will someday be a great school. Grogu will be its first student." Ahsoka said. "We'd like to know how he's doing." (Y/n) said. "He is doing fine." Ahsoka said. "We wanna see him." Din said and Ahsoka sighs. "I know you do. Let us take a walk." She said and she walks ahead and the two hunters follow her.
