After that failed attempt at a handshake, you and Baji got into a comfortable silence until he announced he had to go out and buy some stuff for his trip to the beach with some of his friends the next day. Seeing this as an opportunity to try and get more comfortable with your presence (and test out if anyone besides him could see you), he had invited you to go with him.

And that's where you were now, at the local shopping centre, alongside Baji, looking for a place that sold swimming trucks and sunscreen – the last one wasn't even on Baji's shopping list, but after a look from you, the boy decided to include it.

"I'm just saying, Baji-san, sunscreen is one of the most important things someone can buy when going to the beach. Trust me, sunburns are not funny..." At this, you couldn't help but shiver at a memory from when Tae insisted to not put on her sunscreen one day and you ended up taking care of her for getting sunburnt.

"Hm." Of course, now that both of you were out and in the presence of a lot of people, Baji's answers turned into one word-one phrases, since he soon realised people looked at him weirdly when he talked with her – after all, for them, the boy was simply talking to himself, and not with the girl beside him.

Satisfied, you hummed to yourself and started looking through the shop's windows, marvelling at all the stuff that they could offer. However, as soon as your eyes passed through a flower shop, you did a double take and stopped walking. The Hummingbird, it was called.

The Tanaka family managed to open a shop in Tokyo?

Lost in your own thoughts, you failed to notice Baji reaching out for his phone until he started talking.

"What, you want a flower or something?" startled, you looked at him, and if he weren't looking straight into your eyes, you would have thought he was talking on the phone.

That's really smart of him.

Shaking your head at him, you couldn't help but look at the shop nostalgically "The last time I saw The Hummingbird was in Kamikochi, so I was surprised to see one in Tokyo as well."

"Kamikochi? That's far." He commented, following your gaze. "What were you doing there?"

"I kind of lived there for a few years with Tae. The woman that opened this business was named Riku Tanaka, and in a way, she was like you."

Puzzled, Baji tore his gaze away from the flower display and looked at you "Like me?".

"I was her Guardian Angel, and I guess you can guess what animal form I took when I was with her".

Just as Baji was opening his mouth to answer you, a new voice interrupted him, making him look at the approaching blonde male with a dragon tattoo.

"Oi, Baji!" Fist bumping his friend as soon as he is close enough, Baji looks at him in wonder, especially since he is alone, a rare occurrence.

"Draken." He nodded in greeting, before questioning him. "Mikey's not with you?"

"You know that I have a life outside him, right?" All he got was a shrug from his friend. Sighing, Draken continued "Besides, I can't be with him, if I want to buy his birthday gift. Speaking of, do you have one already?"

"Not really, still thinking about it. I'm here to get some things for tomorrow." At this, he looked at you, only to see you looking in astonishment at his friend's tattoo.

"Wow, it's so pretty, but... isn't he too young for a tattoo?" At your innocent comment, Baji had to fight a smile as to not creep out his friend.

After that, both Baji and Draken got into a conversation about their trip to the beach the following day. And so, since you didn't want to intrude, you decided to enter a shop and browse through the clothes absentminded – but not before signalling Baji of where you were going to.

You were so distracted looking at a particular cute set of clothing that you don't notice that a few minutes later Baji gets in and moves to stand by your side.

"Maybe this one?" Looking to your left, you see Baji showing you a pair of black swimming trunks, while looking at you and waiting for your opinion; sure, he didn't need your approval, but since he was the one that invited you out, the less he could do was ask for your opinion on things.

"Baji-san, where's your friend?" Looking around, you couldn't see sights of his blonde friend anywhere in the shop.

"Left." Was his only answer, seeing how you ignored his earlier question, Baji moved, once again, the piece of clothing in his hand and waited for your opinion.

"Oh, right. Black suits you best, Baji-san, it'll look great on you, I'm sure of it." you beamed at him. Satisfied with your answer, the boy nodded his head and left in direction of the fitting rooms, but not before looking at you with a teasing smile. "Don't you dare look inside."

Gasping, you put your hands near your heart and started shaking your head left and right, all the while feeling your body heating up. "Baji-san!" you cried out. "Who do you think I am?!". Amused with your reaction – and for finally seeing another side of you, besides the polite one you have been showing him –, he snorted and closed the curtains.

After seeing that the swimming trunks were the right size, Baji left the fitting rooms and made his way towards the check-out, with you following behind.

"Will that be all, sir?" The cashier asked Baji. He was about to nod when he hears someone clearing their throat. Knowing who the culprit was, Baji looked at you, only to see you motion at something with your head. Following your directions, Baji looked at the shelf behind the cashier, before sighing in defeat.

"And one sunscreen." another cough "...please."
