Flashback

"Why did you recommend Y/n to join the army?" The brunette haired female asked and glanced at the blue haired general who stood next to her. They were both peaceful enjoying the view and watching Y/n practising with a soldier.

Esdeath chuckled, "why didn't you? Y/n is no weakling."

Kaori smiled and raised her eyebrows, "That I know, General. But I don't want my only brother to be in danger at every second of the day," a hint of anger was notice in her tone as she got closer to Esdeath to whisper to her, "General, if anything ever happens to my brother, I promise I'll make you suffer to death, 'kay?" She smiled and walked away towards Y/n.

The General simply smirked at the female's threat and joined her to meet with Y/n.

"Y/n, when you're confronting your enemies, never let your anger get a hold of you. Listen very well: never let your emotions be responsible for your actions, it'll lead you to make mistakes," said the brunette haired female then smiled at her young brother. This smile was a sincere one.

"General? Is something the matter?" Run asked, serving her a cup of tea.

"I'm alright," she said, gently letting her fingers go through Y/n's hair as he slept in her bed, "was thinking..he's so different from his sister. If you wouldn't have known, you'd never would've guessed they were siblings."

"I never met Kaori, I'm sure she was as humble and respectful as Y/n," Run said and took a seat.

Esdeath chuckled, "Kaori was someone who was a hypocrite to everyone except y/n. She never trusted anyone. She was physically strong, intelligent, independent, a great leader..." she glanced at Run and smirked, "her only error was underestimating her enemies."

"When Y/n wakes up he'll be unhappy that Akame escaped once again."

"Y/n doesn't know how to keep his mind cool when going against his opponent. He fights with anger and like that you'll never be the victor," Esdeath said while she caressed Y/n's temple.

Run smiled at the view, "you care very much for him, don't you?"

Esdeath's smile faded as she looked over at Run and then smiled once again.

"He's as important to me as you, and the rest of the Jaegers. I will avenge everyone I lost because of Night Raid," Her voice went soft now.

Run smiled, "General Esdeath,"he stood up, "Excuse me, I'll leave you to rest."

"Run," She called, making the blonde turn to her, "as the sun comes out, I'll start heading outside the capital," she glanced at him, "I won't be here to take care of Y/n, I'll be on an expedition, seems like another revolutionary army formed," she sighed, "I leave Y/n under your care, he is to stay indoors until my return," Esdeath informed as he nodded.

"I won't disappoint you, but Y/n isn't someone easy to deal with," Run giggled.

"I know, but I want you to try," She smiled and glanced back at Y/n.

"I will do my best, General," Run replied and walked out the room.

In a half an hour the sun started to awaken, it was time for her to get dressed and start her trip out the capital.

She got into her uniform, hooked her rapier to her waist, and got her feet in her high-heeled boots. Before she left the room, she walked to Y/n, who was still asleep.
