"WhY DO YOu HAvE ThAT!?"
Akemi stared at Childe astonished as he places a sigil of permission into Aether's hand.
Paimon looks at what was in Aether's hand. "This is a..."
"I'm not sure, exactly." Admits the Harbinger. "Sometimes, all money can buy is "things" and not a name for oneself."
"Ok shut up now!" Says the Pyro user as she shoves Childe out of the groups view. "This is a Sigil of permission! By having this in your possession, the adepti are unable to harm you."
The fatui agents could be seen slightly shaking at the sight of a Fatui Harbinger being shoved to the ground so casually. They were even more frightened when an angry aura could be seen around him as he glared at the black haired girl.
The man stands up and ruffles the girls hair messing it up. "Haha! That's right! I was just about to mention that before you rudely interrupted." He said with a hint of venom in his voice.
"Oh~ but you just said a while ago that your clueless sad excuse of a Harbinger self CLEARLY didn't know what it was!" Retaliates Akemi.
"Adepti?" Asks Paimon, clueless to the energy the two are giving off.
"That's right! IF- HmPh!"
"If you head north from the harbor, then west from Guili Plains, you will eventually reach a stone forest known an Jueyun Karst." Childe explains as stuggles to cover Akemi's mouth. "The people of Liyue believe it to be the abode of the adepti." Childe finished, now removing his hand now covered in saliva from Akemi's mouth.
Aether, unfazed by all of this, nodded in understanding but raised an eyebrow in question. "Isn't it just a legend?"
"Legend or not-"
"They believe it. And as such, offerings to the adepti are made at its borders. Nobody dares venture in." Glancing at Childe, Akemi sticks her tounge at him.
"But I have no need for believing - not when I know for a fact that the adepti truly exist." Childe states, attempting to ignore a certain someone.
After a long and hard thinking session, Paimon came to a conclusion. "Hate to admit it but your Fatui intel seems alright. But, why would we go looking for adepti anyway?" She asks.
"We'd go becau-" Childe purposely trips her as she hopped around the place.
"Ha, oh my little friend. There are plenty of reasons mortals seek the blessings of adepti. Money, health, love... " He listed a few options before giving them a look of determination. "But you... you will go for justice.
"Justice?" The duo question.
"The Qixing will already have dispatched the Millelith. They'll be seeking out the assassin from amongst the onlookers. But how could a mere mortal kill a god that can sweep aside entire armies? Rex Lapis never gave up his power as a god. This level of crude response is beyond what is called for. How suspicious..."
The traveller takes a guess at what the Harbinger was trying to imply "So you think they're trying to hide the true culprit?"
Childe fakes a thinking pose. "Or... to hide something else. Hard to say."
Aether tries again. "You think the Qixing did it and they're trying to pin it on someone else?"
Childe looks directly at Aether, smirking. "Your thinking is even more radical than my own, Honorary Knight. Even now, the Northland Bank wouldn't be able to hold the Millelith off for long, but the adepti can clear you of any wrongdoing."
