Olive and I walked down the stairs together. We had gotten close since I came to Webster. We looked over and saw Chyna leading the monitor watching. I peered over the crowd, wondering what had made this large crowd gather.

"What are you guys doing?" Olive asked.

"I gave Principal Skidmore a hairpin that's actually a wireless webcam," Chyna explained, grinning.

Fletcher joined my side, watching with me. I furrowed my eyebrows when she yelled at a student for smiling. Why was Skidmore so stonehearted? We should have fun in school.

"We can see everything she sees?" Fletcher asked.

"As long as she's in range of the receiver. Which pretty much covers any place in the school," Chyna said.

I cringed when I saw Principal Skidmore eat a pie. She ate with her hands, acting like a dog. She walked out of the cafeteria and stood somewhere, watching some kids. Maybe I could recognize some of them.

"What's Skidmore looking at now?" I asked.

"Oh, she's looking at a group of kids. And it looks like they're watching something on the monitor." Chyna realized. "Uh oh."

Principal Skidmore stomped up to her. "Chyna. You gave me this! This is what you rotten kids use the internet for?"

"No. We also use it for online shopping. Isn't that where you bought the webcam?" Fletcher asked before I punched his arm. "What was that for?"

"Not helping," I hissed.

"Webcam?" Chyna played dumb. "It has a webcam? I just got you it because it's cute. See?"

"That's it. I am turning off the internet access in this school, effective immediately. And you have Chyna to thank."

Fletcher, Olive, and I backed up slowly, away from the crowd. Chyna ran away, and the group ran after her. We walked into the A.N.T. Farm, know it was a better place to be than anywhere else in the school.

Chyna ran into the A.N.T. Farm. She panted, tired from running. I looked up.

"Wow. People are really angry with me about this whole internet thing. I think I got rebooted a couple times," Chyna complained. "Well, at least you guys don't blame me."

"You destroyed what I love. And now I am going to destr-"

"Ah, ah, ah," I said, snatching the violin from him. "Let's not get rash. That's over one hundred and fifty compared to something you used for free."

"I don't understand why everyone is so upset. We can still go on the internet with our cell phones," Chyna argued.

"The service sucks in this school even when everyone's on the internet connection," I stated.

"And Skidmore jammed our cell phones," Fletcher added.

"You're lucky. She peanut-buttered mine," Angus whined.

"I'm just glad I kept it at home today," I breathed.

"Well, back when we had the internet, I read online that kids used to do stuff without the internet," Chyna explained.

"Have you guys never read a book? Did a puzzle?" I questioned.

They all shook their heads.

"We could go to that park across the street and fly a kite," Chyna pointed out.

"Well, how are we supposed to find a way across the street without looking up directions online?" Fletcher questioned.

"How do you think people crossed the road before there was an internet?" I asked in disbelief.
