chapter fithteen- accident

All of a sudden millions of cars parked outside the venue at that moment I wanted to hide away from everyone but I didn't want to ruin my family's reputation like my parents thought I did every year all my aunt's uncles grandparents and other family members started filling up the massive venue until everyone was inside my mom grabbed a microphone and announced to get everyone's attention

'hello everyone thank you for coming to this party on this special evening this year nothing's going to go wrong it's all going to be perfect have fun and enjoy yourselves'

Everyone started to applause happily as my mom left the DJ booth as the music started playing my mom walked over to me and whispered quietly

'at least you haven't wrecked the party yet but I've got something to keep you busy so you don't spoil this occasion if anyone comes up to you they want something to eat or drink remember to serve it to them do you understand'

I nodded my head quickly as she left with my aunt to get some champagne all I could do was watch everyone having a great time I wanted to go home already I prayed for the nightmare to end but there was nothing I could do all I could do was stand and serve people food and drinks as I watched everyone enjoying themselves

An hour had passed nothing had gone wrong my parents and siblings didn't bother me everything was going smoothly I was serving food and drinks to my family soon enough my grandma came up to me and asked nicely

'ash can you do me a favour please you see that table over there where me your aunt uncle and grandfather are'

I nodded without thinking and commented

'oh do you want some food and drinks served to that table I'll do it right away'

My grandma explained excitedly

'thank you darling by the way I don't mind what you give us for food and drinks surprise us'

I smiled brightly as she walked away I immediately raced off to grab the food and drinks I put it onto a large tray and carefully picked it up with both hands I started walking closer to their table I knew if I messed up now it'll be over for me but as soon as I got to there table I accidentally tripped and what worse the food and drinks landed all over my grandma grandfather aunt and uncle I quickly apologized saying embarrassingly

'I'm so sorry let me help you clean up'

I grabbed the napkins from there table but as soon as I grabbed them my aunt started to scream all eyes were on me she was covered in red wine her white dress was ruined and her hair was soaked in wine she shouted while starting to cry

'MY DRESS AND HAIR IS RUINED BECAUSE OF YOU'

I quickly responded with

'I didn't mean to spill wine all over her it was an accident my hand slipped'

My mom immediately ran over to the table and screamed angrily at me

'STOP SAYING IT WAS AN ACCIDENT YOU DID THAT ON PURPOSE NOW LOOK YOUR AUNT'S DRESS IT'S RUINED BECAUSE OF YOU YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF NOW HELP ME CLEAN THIS TABLE UP WILL BE HAVING WORDS WITH YOU WHEN WE GET HOME'

After another hour had passed all of us began to leave the venue we walked back to the car and my mom began to drive home in the dark night once we got home my mom glanced over at me and snarled

'remember we're having some words when we get in'

When we got in the house my siblings exhaustedly stumbled upstairs while I on the other hand had to have some words with my parents I walked slowly to the dining room I stood there for a moment before my dad grumbled

'sit down brat you're in so much trouble'

I sat down and stared at them both all my thoughts were telling me you've messed up what's going to happen now I was scared for dear life I just couldn't handle having this chat every year after every party I explained quietly

'listen I didn't mean to spill all that red wine over my aunt's dress it was an accident I swear'

My mom yelled

'NO IT WASN'T A FUCKING ACCIDENT YOUR AUNT HAS GONE HOME IN DISTRESS IT'LL PROBABLY TAKE A MONTH TO WASH THE RED WINE OUT OFF HER DRESS AND HAIR'

my dad added in

'YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF I KNEW THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN AGAIN WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY YOURSELF'

I lost my shit with them that evening I just couldn't take it anymore I shrieked angrily

'LISTEN IT'S NOT MY BLOODY FAULT THAT I SPILT FOOD AND DRINK ACCIDENTS HAPPEN IN LIFE YOU ALWAYS EXPECT ME TO BE PERFECT NOBODY'S PERFECT IN THIS WORLD AND WHY DO I HAVE TO GET BLAMED FOR THIS'

my dad immediately got up from his chair and slapped me roughly while screaming

'DON'T YOU DARE USE THAT TONE OF VOICE IN FRONT OF US'

I added

'well I don't fucking care to be honest it's your fault that you're making my life a misery'

My mom gasped dramatically at that moment I knew something bad was going to happen
