2 months later, Casita is almost complete...we need a—
"Right....THERE" I said to Camilo who was placing the final tile in the floor.
The rest of the Madrigals were standing around and began to clap and cheer. I helped Camilo up and he gave me a small, quick hug
"Wonderful!" Abuela said, clasping her hands together. "It has been a long time coming, but our new casita is finally here! I want everyone to go to the houses and bring your stuff over. We will move in today!" she said
"Before we go, I want to say how proud I am of all of you. We are also so proud of our possible new in-laws, y/n and Mariano" Abuela said
I blushed a bit hearing in-law. Mariano gave me a reassuring look and a fist bump
Camilo was smiling happily at it all. "In-law sounds nice doesn't it?" he asked
I hit him softly and he smiled at that before putting an arm around my shoulder and pulling me closer
"We will hold a celebration with the town later. La familia Madrigal!" Abuela said
"La familia Madrigal!" everyone repeated, except me and Mariano.
Abuela looked sternly at the two of us. "Y/n, Mariano. I want you two to repeat it" she said
I smiled awkwardly. "La familia Madrigal" we both said.
"Good" Abuela said and everyone began to walk to the homes
"Why does she make me say that, I'm not even in the family yet haha" I said to Camilo
"Yet...I love hearing you say that" Camilo said. I smiled at his remark. It was nice to think we'd be together that long
We were about to walk before Dolores pulled us back. "Aye, come here you two" she said
"What is it?" Camilo asked.
"We actually already brought everyone's things back. Well except Mirabel's...we wanted to surprise her with this" she said pulling out a doorknob
It was simple but it was elegant and it had a large M in the center. Probably for Madrigal, but it could work for Mirabel too
"Since she didn't get a door, this will be like her little gift ceremony" Dolores said.
Me and Camilo smiled. That was so sweet of them
"Ok...so what did you need us for? Or did you just need to tell us" I said
"Well, we need you to stay here. But stay out of sight" Dolores said, leaving us to wait
We walked back into the house, roughly to the spot where we hung out at Antonio's gift ceremony...at least where it once was in the old casita, near the new set of stairs.
There were a few chairs and various furnitures set up.
Me and Camilo sat next to each other on a wooden bench as we awaited Mirabel to come home
"I can't believe it's finally built" I said as I held onto Camilo's hand.
"Yeah, it felt like yesterday the house was collapsing. Now it's up and our family is stronger than ever...I'm stronger than ever" Camilo said, proud of himself
"Of course with your help mariposa" he said as he lifted our hands up and kissed the top of mine. That flustered me
"It's been great to watch you grow, just know we're proud of you Cami...know I'm proud of you" I said, looking him in the eyes
He smiled and hugged me.
"Ahh, how about let's do something quick. Don't tell Abuela" he said smirking suspiciously
