At the age of six, Kaze, Kamlyn, and Kira have already been through hell and have no intention of going through it again.

The first part of this was on the team, who are too young at this point in the story and hardly understand their feelings. These characters are older and know what/who they like.
Fire Team Yellow Tiger is probably one of the most diverse groups in the book. Google is your friend. I will most likely add to this or add other chapters on this in the future.
