Gentle warmth envelopes me as I rub the sleep out of my eyes. The night that passed had me bracing for a disturbed sleep but I am pleasantly surprised to find that wasn't the case. Sunlight filters through the windows splitting in beams, dust mites dance in the air. Adrian was sleeping in a sitting position with one hand behind his head and the other resting on me, my head was on his lap and feet spread on the sofa.

Closing the door quietly behind me I head into the bedroom to get ready for office, but realize it was nearly afternoon, so proceed for a shower instead. With freshly brewed coffee I go back to the living room, Adrian slowly stirs awake

"When did you wake up?" he says ruffling his hair, eyes squinting to look up at me

"A while ago" I answer giving him his coffee

"Thanks" he says groggily

"How's your head?"

"I'll live"

"What happened to this place?" he asks looking at the mess of beer cans, crisps wrappers, a half-eaten ice-cream tub before grimacing at his jacket, shoes and socks littered on the floor, which he kicked off yesterday complaining that the heat was killing him.

"You did"

"Uh okay but why am I here?" he frowns

"You don't know?" I say skeptically and he nods silently

"And someone said I wouldn't remember" I smirk

"Who did?" he asks confused

"Faith could you not laugh so loudly?"

"Why?" I ask even though I knew

"hangover, hangover" he whispers making me smile

"Yes so?" I ask raising my voice

"Jesus Christ" he winces

"Don't bring him in. That guy didn't make you drink"

"Okay"

"Ok what?"

"Ok I'm sorry"

"For what?"

"Drinking. I won't do it again"

"Did I ask you to stop?"

"I don't think so"

"Then what do you think so?"

"What?" he asks thoroughly confused. I sit back thinking of what happened yesterday. I wasn't sure of anything at the moment. My heart felt a tiny bit lighter after his drunken admission about why he didn't come after me immediately. But then again, my anger wasn't gone, I wanted to hit him. Really hard. But maybe he wasn't all bad. Just maybe.

"Can you not stare you're scaring me" Adrian says

"Did you do anything you should be scared of?" I ask raising a brow

"I don't fucking know!" he says helplessly, a reluctant smile breaks out on my face

"Ah, you better pay for that parking ticket."

"Tell me I didn't drive it into your fence"

"You didn't, you just took up half of the road" I inform politely

"What else did I do?"

"It was a production" I say mirroring his words to check if he was feigning a blackout

"Speak English please" he says rubbing circles on his temples

"For starters you mixed rum with redbull – "
