"I don't know where to start, but I'm not comfortable telling you all what happened because it's Nova's tragedy not mine" I sigh feeling overwhelmed

Do it tell them? Do I wait for her to wake up?

"We understand Rune, but that wasn't some normal meltdown. It wasn't even a breakdown or some shit, dude that was worse than a panic attack and for something like that to happen the things she must've gone through..." Luc trails off

I look at Emilio, who's staring out into space with a lost look, haunted. He heard, he already knows and everyone suspects. Is it still wrong of me to tell them while my sister sleeps?

Fuck I don't know. I don't know what to do. Half the time I don't even know how to help her, support her and now I gotta deal with this for her and I want to make sure I do it right

What if I tell them and she wakes up and hates me for it? Or what if she runs away to escape the inevitable confrontation?

I take my phone out and go to my email, searching for the pictures I forwarded to myself when Cadence's brother sent them to Nova to show them to them later when she wakes

"Who was Cadence, we know she died but how deep did it cut Star?" Elías asks

I'm not jealous of the nickname. Not one bit. Nope. I'm always gonna be her favorite brother, fuckers

"Cadence Green was Nova's best friend, but Gracey loved her like more than that" I start, looking up to see that I have their full attention

"Much to my torture, Nova was always leaning towards guys, wanting a boyfriend...kissing a guy here and there but her love for Cadence hit her like a fucking train. God the way my sister longed to be loved by her best friend...it was eating her up"

I remember all the times I comforted her after she had to watch Cadence with her deadbeat boyfriends, the times she tried to forget it by going to someone else

"She sometimes made mistakes, wanting to I don't know...get even with Cady for always having a guy by her side. Cadence was such a kind, amazing girl. But her parents were...difficult. Obsessed with leading a cult like life with many other members of our town"

"I imagine Cadence wasn't the 'using religion as an excuse to be a homophobic asshole' type like her parents?" Santi asks

I shake my head "No, Cady hated her parents for everything they did. They are leaders of the town's church but the things they do in there...let's just say they supported a church community that used children for things no child should ever be used"

"Jesus Christ, that's fucked up" Elías mutters rubbing his eyes

"Yeah but that's not the point of this, we'll talk about that later...almost five months ago there was an accident. Cadence was driving, Nova was drunk on the passenger seat"
