Hey!
I know many of you will be frustrated with Nova
Many of you will probably go as far as hating on her...Why is she treating them like that?
Why can't she just be grateful? That would just be too easy wouldn't it? She's a completely broken girl going through emotions and thoughts she can't even begin to process while her life is totally upside down, I think it wouldn't make sense that she just accepts everything going on around her
She's heartbroken, grieving and going through so fucking much...I think it's only fair we give her a chance
Healing is a journey that doesn't go on in a straight line, healing is a rollercoaster. Healing makes you go through the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. It's not perfect and it's not consistent or steady
Give it time, it's a long and draining process
In my other books: I wrote Aurora sweet and kind and forgiving
I wrote River a little rougher around the edges but still easily loving and acceptingI wanted and needed to write Nova as a harder girl to love. Many of us are tough shells to crack, I needed to tell a story in which the main character could be unconditionally loved despite her many layers, mistakes and imperfections
I needed a story that could make us believe that they didn't need to be sweet, perfect girls for their family to fall in love with who they are
A family built with such strong foundations that instead of toxicity, they chose to support Nova through it all despite how hard she pushed them away. Despite how many times she hurt themI wanted her character development to start from rock bottom, for her to really have to peel every layer of herself to finally be able to be free and accept the love she deserves
On that note, happy reading!
