Life of a Flower Petal

The delicate white petals,

Soft and fine,

In the wind they settle,

Drifting on the brink of time.

They land in the ocean calm,

Water so crystalline,

The petals fit in your palm,

Arching into a delicate line.

They drift over the waves,

Under the midnight sky,

Past rocky, barren caves,

In hopes to one day be free and fly.

Their destination coming to a conclusion,

The waters lapping the foaming shores,

Yearning for some seclusion,

Listening to the old fish tale lores.

As they reach the sand speckled land,

The white petals, color of cream,

Even in their worst state, they are ever so grand,

Beautiful shy flowers, so soft and lean.

They settle into the earth,

Waiting for nature to take them away,

On another adventure,

In the upcoming days.
