A scream of unrelentless death,
Echoed precipitatingly across sea waves,
A head of wet hair collapsed to it,
Bobbed precariously in the channels.
I stood there, not knowing what to do,
But caring, yet, paralyzed watching,
Another cry rushed past my ears,
I gasped, as tears unyeilding slid over my cheeks.
Then the head was swept under,
By an unseeing powerful force,
Tears streamed painfully, as I now waded,
Into the lapping waves.
I stopped,
Knee high in the cold, dark swishing waters,
Only there to watch..
The terror stricken faces of the ones I loved;
Swallowed into this cold abyss..
I did nothing, but cry,
All the pain I felt, revealed in this one scene,
The scene of terror..
A scene of pain.
