"Mr.Carter, you called for me. How can I help you?"
"How has your work been coming along?"
"It's fine, I haven't had any issues."

She stood in front of my desk, but didn't make any eye contact with me.

"Emma."
"Yes."
"I'm sorry."
"No, I'm sorry. I should have never said that. It was very inconsiderate of me. I acted unprofessional, I am nothing more than your assistant."
"Correct, but I should have handled that situation more professionally. At the end of the day, I should have dismissed the issue after I made it clear that I am not attracted to you. I should have ever threatened you. I allowed my anger to get the best of me."
"I don't blame you. It's what I deserve for speaking out of term."
"Why would you say something like that to me? After all I've done for you?"

I stood up from my seat walking over to Emma. I held her face up towards me.

"There's no excuse for what I said. I just thought after all these years, you would have moved on."

I looked at her closely then stepped closer to her. We were nearly just lips apart from each other. I didn't feel her breathe, as if me being this close made her nervous.

"Never."

My face showed no remorse towards her falling tears. Did I frighten her? Good.

"Tears are for those who are weak. I would know because I cried many. However, at the words of my wife being mentioned I do not take it lightly. For someone who just started back working, sure does make a ass of herself. You've worked for me for quite awhile now and I've always been nice. I treated you with respect and spoke highly of you."

"Mr.Carter, I'm sorry." She cried.

"You are nothing more than just an enemy to me. Those words about my wife shook me the wrong way."

"I beg for your forgiveness."

"My mind has been so twisted all these years. I guess this was all it took to finally put it to use. Let's put that pretty mouth where it's actually useful."
