Thank you to everyone for taking the time to read! My imagination was captured by Anne Mortimer, someone pretty much forgotten by history. She had a short life, but history changed forever because of her choices. I like to believe that she married Richard for love, since it happened without permission and didn't benefit either of them.
Her husband, Richard of Conisburgh, died on August 5th, 1415. Two months after he died, his brother died in the Battle of Agincourt. Richard and Anne's son inherited his lands and his titles, becoming the Duke of York when he was only four.
Anne's brother Edmund Mortimer, Earl of March, was forgiven by Henry V. He was loyal to the king for the next ten years until his death. After he died, Anne and Richard's son inherited his titles and lands, becoming one of the wealthiest and most important people of his time. Like his mother, he never forgot his royal heritage.
Thank you again for reading!
