[Y/N] POV

"This is it"

You were at the door of the throne room where the Tsaritsa sat along with all of the harbingers. Your heart pounded as you pushed open the door and placed your stuff nearby. The room had a chill in the air and you felt all eyes on you.

The Tsaritsa was a pale, thin looking woman. She had platinum hair and piercing almost white, bright blue eyes. Only hearing of her, people told you how one glance was like looking a snake in the eyes. How her fearsome look could kill. Meeting her in person confirmed this.

You glanced around the room and locked eyes with Scaramouche, he was much colder looking much more cruel and more like the harbinger status he had. Upon finishing you immediately knelt down waiting to be called upon. "[Y/N] it is said that you have a new weapon for us. Is this true?"

"Yes, it's name is the Exospray"

"Show us."

You took a deep breath in to step to the chalkboard and begin to explain how the Exospray works but the Tsaritsa cut you off.

"Don't waste your breath explaining it right now. Show us what It can do. Bring it in." Just then a wooden cage was rolled in by some staff. Upon looking at it you saw what was inside. It was the three men from the other day. Their faces were pale and one look into their eyes showed you they were begging for mercy. "I told Scaramouche to grab some criminals from the station. This should suffice no?"

"Yes, thank you Tsaritsa."

You begun to set up the weapon. It was a large orb and operated like a landmine of some sort, but boy was it powerful. After pouring the serum inside the machinery begun to stir. "You might want to put these on" you handed the masks to the staff and they handed them out equally to the harbingers and Tsaritsa.

Putting on a mask yourself you started up the machine. It sent out waves upon waves of a thick mist causing excruciating pain to the men in the cage. "It harnesses elemental energy of the area around it as long as it has the serum. Its efficient and can cut costs on having to manufacture more of the tanks."

The Tsaritsa was intrigued. "Can it go higher?"

"Yes. This is only it's lowest setting. The remote can turn up the level. I'll turn it up to the middle notch"
You turned it up and the screams intensified. "If you're wondering why they haven't fainted yet is because of the serums design. The toxins inside keep anyone experiencing this awake making it perfect for interrogations or taking hostages, and if you were set here it still won't , at least not for a while."

"I think we've seen enough of this level. Set it to kill."

You nodded as you turned it up to the max. The screams stopped as the men dropped dead like flies.

"Thank you [Y/N] your invention is extraordinary, However I'm not exactly sold on it."

You took a deep breath hoping that she wouldn't end you right then and there." I'm going to talk to the harbingers about who you'll be assigned to. I want to see it work in the field. I hope to see great things from this machinery. Who knows, maybe with this and your skills you can rise the ranks to be a harbinger."

"Thank you Tsaritsa." you let out a small sigh, not too audible.

"Gather [Y/N]'s things and see to it that she has a room to stay in." She then turned her attention to you "I'll send someone to inform you of your placement tomorrow."

You knelt down before exiting the room, after following a servant to an extra guest room you closed the door and collapsed on the velvety bed. Your never realized your body was tense and all your muscles seemed to give out. Lying down never felt better.

"Wait they had extra rooms?!" You assumed they didn't because you had to stay with Scaramouche but turns out they did. "That bastard!"

After laying for a few more minutes the door opened. It was the Balladeer rather than having the annoyance and inconvenienced look on his face he seemed glad, almost relieved. 'What's up with this guy. '

"You seem happy?"

"Did you like the surprise I gave you? The 3 guys weren't from the station but I managed to find them drinking at a pub."

"The test subjects definitely helped, speaking of drinks... I vaguely remember you saying you would take me out for some later today."

"Yes, I vaguely remember saying that too, that's actually why I came here. Get ready let's go."

You grabbed your coat and put on your boots. Following Scaramouche you saw a few attendants but nothing more. "Oh Scaraaaa!" Dottore called out. He walked up to the two of you and passed a small box to the balladeer. "Here's what you asked for. Don't have too much fun, enjoy yourselves!" and so the man walked off. 'What a strange man...' Continuing to walk down the halls you and Scaramouche stepped outside. The soft snow was inviting and was a much better change than the whirling winds from before. "What pub you want to go to?" The inazuman asked. "Hmmm flamehouse is good." "Not a bad choice." You walked throughout the town making your way towards the pub. Trying to make small talk you let out a small question. "How do you not get cold?"

"Hm?" The question caught the man off guard.

"You're not cold? You're wearing short sleeves and shorts! Not to mention you have your toes hanging out of your shoes."

"It isn't cold, you're just overreacting."

"Even amidst a snowstorm in one of the coldest regions and you still aren't cold?"

"I don't feel cold."

"You might as well not feel anything because there's no way its not cold."

"Oh please," the harbinger grabbed you by your hood again. "You really are ditzy headed you just passed by the pub. C'mon let's head in."
