Back in space, after Thor and Kaitlyn got separated, a ragtag group of heroes known as the Guardians of the Galaxy get a distressed call from the ship the two heroes were on. Kaitlyn left to go back to Earth and warn the others while Thor's fate was still unknown. The Guardians of the Galaxy were jamming to a song called the Rubberband Man by the Spinners as they flew out to the location of the ship.

Peter Quill aka Star-Lord, was singing and dancing along to the music. He pulls a funny face and points to Drax, who was sleeping in his chair with his mouth open. "Sing it, Drax!"

Gamora was mouthing along to the song while Rocket yawns. Behind him, a teenage-looking Groot was playing a handheld video game. "Why are we doing this again?" Rocket asks.

"It's a distress signal, Rocket. Someone could be dying." Gamora replies, annoyed.

"I get that, but why are we doing it?" Rocket asks.

"'Cause, we're nice. And maybe whoever it is will give us a little cheddar cheese for our effort." Peter replies.

"Which isn't the point." Gamora says.

"Which isn't the point." Peter repeats, pointing at Gamora. "I mean, if he doesn't pony up..."

"We take his ship." Drax says, now awake.

"Exactly!" Rocket exclaims.

"B-b-b-bingo!" Peter says.

Gamora looks at Peter who just shakes his head reassuringly. "We are arriving." Mantis announces to the group.

"All right, Guardians, don't forget this might be dangerous, so let's put on our mean faces." Peter says. He looks over at Groot who hasn't put down his game. "Groot, put that thing away, now. I don't wanna tell you again. Groot."
