The three of us take final looks at the sleeping child from outside the window. Jack randomly turns towards me, "yes?" He drawls.

I look at him perplexed. "I didn't say anything?" I tell him and he tilts his head.

He suddenly swirls and looks out at the horizon. "Are you messing with me? It sounds just like you," he informs me, not speaking directly at me. "Only, younger."

I laugh at him. "Jack I haven't aged in 300 years," I remind.

He turns back to face me. "I know I know, it's just..." his words trail off as his attention is caught elsewhere once again. "I know that voice," he confesses, but I have no idea what voice he is talking about.

Before I am able to protest, he is gone.

He sounds randomly happy about this confusing situation. "Yeah I'm coming!" I shout at him as I follow where he went. I see him pause on a roof for a moment.

"Calm down," I complain, landing next to him. "You had a head start."

He glances at me, "I didn't say anything?" My face falters for a moment and that's all he needs. "Are you hearing something too!?" He exclaims as he grabs my shoulders. Before I have time to reply he's off again, touching down in the middle of a lifeless forestry area.

"Jack cmon," I urge, landing behind him, "where are you going?" Baby Tooth tries to grab at his hood as he continues towards a clearing.

"Don't worry there's time," he assures the two of us and the small fairy rolls her eyes.

Then I see it.

A spooky ass broken old bed frame that is covering a hole. "Jack this place gives me the creeps," I admit, speed walking to catch up.

I spin around looking for the sign of any people.

That was not Jack's voice.

Jack is suddenly there when I turn back around and it gives me a fright. "It's just me," he confirms, gently touching my forearm.

My heart is racing and a weight sits heavily on my chest. "I don't like this," I tell him. "I don't know what it is but I don't like it."

He looks at my sympathetically before just dragging me to the rotting bed frame. God this man is persistent. He hits a middle plank a couple times before it breaks off and falls down.

It just keeps falling. An endless echo.

I breathe in a deep breath, knowing full well Jack did not just say my name. "It's coming from in here," he states and Baby Tooth furiously shakes her head. He stares pleadingly at me. I know full well he won't leave me up here, so he's silently asking for me to join him.

I sigh greatly, "sorry Baby Tooth, it'll be quick," I assure before grabbing his hand and plummeting down.

We land very ungracefully at the bottom of this thing. Baby Tooth thankfully followed us down but now pesters us, trying to pull us back. "It's okay," Jack reassures. "We just have to find out what that was." I smile compassionately to the small fairy and she goes compliant.

Ahead of us, at the end of this tunnel, there is some dimly lit light. As we get closer I see hundreds of bird cages hung from the ceiling. "What the fuck," I comment as we hop down a level and land among an array of staircases that connect right different walls and more passageways.
