We never wanted to be in this position again. In fact I can't tell you how many times Eldon and I promised ourselves we would never let her get to this point again
"We blamed her parents" Eldon grumbled with his head in his hands 

Everyone wanted to join us but after a long talk we didn't want to overwhelm Riley so it was just the two of us
James was still here 
We all know he won't be leaving anytime soon

"We fucking missed the big sign man" Eldon said turning to look at me
"I swear when she's out of here. I'm going to physically murder him" I growled
"Oh I'm already planning it" A voice said making the two of us look at him

We turned to see James walking over with his hands in his pocket
"What's going on?" I asked but he sighed and shook his head
"They've stopped the bleeding and gave her a few stitches but they are working on getting her blood volume back up" He said making me sigh

"Is she awake?" Eldon asked but James shook his head
"She woke up while they worked on her but they gave her something to help with the pain and it knocked her straight back out" He whispered 

I glanced at him to see that his hands were still shaking, the blood that was once on them had been washed away but if I know anything about this situation
He'll see it on his skin for months..

"How are you doing?" I asked making him look at me, his expression had a mixture of emotions. One main one being worry, another being fear
"I don't know" he whispered looking down at his hands
"how did you two get past this" He asked looking up at us

Eldon smiled slightly patting his back
"Truth is we never did" He said making James look at me confused
"It's the one reason we protect Riley a little too much at times" I confessed making him bow his head
"We smother her until she snaps at us, it's sort of a dynamic we have going on" Eldon chuckled

"And you are more then welcome to join us" I offered making James look up at me, he wasn't about to join in the small tease we set out to help 
He was too distraught and I don't blame him 

"Is she going to be okay?" he asked, I looked at Eldon who sighed before the pair of us nodded

"She will, it's Riley. She'll be back denying the problem in no time" I smiled making him sigh as he turned to see a doctor walking into the room
"I better" James said making us nod as we watched him disappear

Eldon and I had been sat out here for a while when Eldon turned to me sighing
"Do you really think that?" He asked making me look at him confused
"what?" I asked
"Do you really think she'll be okay?" He whispered 

I wanted to, I really did but something about this time felt different. Last time we saw the signs, long before we knew what was coming

This time we knew a possible outcome but seemed to not realise it at the right time..

"She's Roo" I said making him look at me with hesitation 
"You know for a fact that she is nowhere near finished here" I smiled 
"She's still got a life to live and she won't let anyone take that from her" I answered making him sigh placing his head in his hands 

Eldon and I are different when it comes to Riley and we both know it 

Eldon is that brother that worries about everything she does. The one that will run through plan after plan on how things will work while she's there rolling her eyes at him
But he's also the brother she'll turn to when she needs some emotional guidance

Hence why he was the one who found out about James before I did 

I on the other hand, I'm the big brother who won't let anyone touch her. I'd protect her on a new level. I make sure I know what she's doing, where she's going and any possible problems 
I'm the brother she turns to when she needs some sort of back up

Hence why every battle she's had with Emily, I've been there 

"She's our little Sister Eldon, give her a chance and she'll show us all what she's made of" I smiled glancing over at the door again

She had to be okay, I refuse to allow any other outcome
