"Let's laser tag it up!" Dawn hyped as she, y/n, and Mae walked into the laser tag room.

"Yay, fresh meat." Lucy, the employee, replied. It sounded like she was not excited at all and she'd rather just be at home.

"Yep. Sign us up, Lucy." Y/n replied with a smile.

"I was talking to my sandwich." Lucy said and took a bite of her sandwich. The girls frowned at each other. "Alright, just wait over there till we have enough players for two teams."

The girls stepped away from the counter.

"Are your brothers coming?" Mae asked Dawn.

"I hope not. I didn't tell them I was doing this. For once, I'd like to be on a team with anyone whose name doesn't rhyme with "icky"."

"They just like their sister." Y/n replied, "Is that so bad?"

"They're good kids, y/n. They mean well." Dawn explained, "But I need some time away from them. Lately, they've been sticking to me tighter than honey to a frog's foot."

"That's not a thing." Mae replied.

"It is where I grew up."

"We grew up three blocks from each other."

"It hasn't gotten to you yet. The point is, it's just kind of sad how much they need me. Without me, they have nothing." Dawn said, switching positions with Mae and y/n.

Dawn gasped when she noticed the boys standing behind them.

"Those cute boys are totally staring at us." She whispered.

"No, they're not." Y/n replied, rolling her eyes. She and Mae turned their heads to look, and the boys were indeed staring at them.

"Oh, my gosh! Those cute boys are totally staring at us. What do we do?" Mae asked nervously.

"Leave it to me." Dawn said and walked over to Lucy.

"What do you think she's gonna do?" Y/n asked Mae as she crossed her arms.

"I don't know." Mae replied. She then looked at the boys and giggled. Y/n chuckled and rolled her eyes again.

Dawn returned with a cheeky smile on her face. Y/n raised an eyebrow.

"What did you do?" Y/n asked.

"I made sure Lucy put you both on their team." Dawn replied. Mae immediately smiled, but y/n frowned.

"What about you?" She asked.

"I'll be fine. Maybe I'll get cute boys on my team too."

Mae and Dawn squealed, and y/n forced herself to smile. If she was being honest, she wasn't interested in those boys. She just wanted to have a good time with her friends.

Three boys walked in, and Dawn's face lit up.

"Hey." She greeted and waved. The boys waved back.

"So if you keep heading that way, you'll hit the bathrooms." Dicky said, who appeared with Ricky and Nicky from behind the other boys. Dawn sighed.

"Is it me or were those boys handsome?" Nicky said when he and his brothers walked over to the girls. Y/n chuckled and shook her head lightly as Dawn deeply sighed again.

"Yes, they were. Too bad they're not playing laser tag with me." Dawn said. Dicky put his arm on her shoulder.

"Don't worry, we're here." He said, and the boys all nodded their heads with a smile.

"Okay, awesome. We've finally got enough for two teams. We even have one too many." Lucy said.

"You know what? I'll sit this one out." Y/n said with a smile. Dawn and Mae gasped.
