  - when you first figure out you like girls you don't want to accept it
  - your dad taught you queer people are wrong and disgusting so surely you can't be one of those
  - but the more you think about it the clearer it becomes that you are, in fact, a lesbian
  - you think a lot about what that means, and if your dad might be wrong
  - but you don't really come to any conclusion
  - you decide that you have to tell Henry
  - he's your big brother, he'll know how to deal with this, and most of all you just need to get this off of your chest and he is the only one you really trust
  - so the next time the two of you are home alone you ask if you can tell him something
  - and he just nods and doesn't ask any questions bc he noticed that something has been troubling you lately
  - and you simply say "I like girls."  Henry frowns and asks "What? Do you mean like..?"
"Yeah, I mean I'm queer." Your answer is barely more than a whisper because suddenly you're scared how Henry might react
  - for a moment you just look at eachother
  - you're looking up at Henry with big eyes, the way you always do when something's wrong and you're looking to him for help
  - but this time there's not only trust in your eyes but also something like fear
  - and Henry sees how your bottom lip trembles, like you're gonna cry any moment
  - so he swallows the homophobic comment that was already on the tip of his tongue and just says "Okay."
  - you hadn't even realised just how scared of his reaction you were until you feel the relief of knowing this doesn't make him hate you
  - you throw yourself into his arms and cry against his shoulder for a bit
  - after you calmed down you ask him if it's really okay that you like girls
  - Henry shakes his head and says "I don't care if you're a- If you like girls. You'll always be my little baby sister."
  - But he also reminds you that no one else can know about this, bc your dad would probably kill you if he found out
  - not like you didn't know that already
  - one time when you were younger you had suggested that there was nothing wrong with two people of the same gender liking eachother and he beat you black and blue
  - but you don't feel like coming out to anyone else anyways, it was hard enough telling Henry and you trust him more than anyone
  - but you're glad you told him, knowing he loves you no matter what makes you feel better, and you know he'll keep your secret
