"Anko..." Hokage called out.

"I apologize, I—" she began.

"You're angry you came back alive from the Forest of Death?" The Hokage interrupted.

"..." The woman didn't dare look at the man and stayed quiet.

"Don't worry about it. There is no longer anything between Orochimaru and you... The one shinobi that can stand up to him, I'm afraid, is only driven by anger." The Hokage thought about the dual-haired girl and what happened all those years ago.

He stared at the portrait of the 4th Hokage hung on the wall "He is no longer here. We must rely on our strengths. But I worry our problems are too much for her to handle."

"Yes..."

"I'm going to get air." he paused, looking back at her, "Don't blame yourself."

Back at Karma's house, she sat awkwardly at the table with Genya. He didn't even spare her a glance. Once again, she got home later than usual, and Gen was understandably pissed.

"I saw Master Jiraiya... and Uncle Gai," her voice was followed by silence.

"Orochimaru is back," Genya's head whipped up, and he gawked at her.
