Charlie woke up the next morning feeling safe and comfortable, more so than he could remember ever having felt before. He was a little disoriented for a moment but thanks to his more than relaxed state he didn't panic and remembered after a few seconds what had happened in the middle of the night with the nightmare that Nick had, where he was and whose head was lying on his chest but then he realised, Nick. "Good morning." "Good morning, Nick. Have a good sleep?" "Yeah." He nuzzled his head back into his chest, relaxing slowly. Charlie was surprised to see how much softer, how much more beautiful Nick looked with his hair in slight disarray. It was like all of his masks had disappeared and Charlie could see the real Nick Nelson for the first time.
Nick looked up "What?" "Nothing." Charlie traced his cheekbones slowly with his knuckles as he looked up "You're meant to be the soft one, Char, your a Ravenclaw." "Not all Ravenclaw's are soft, and your a Gryffindor so you can shush." He went to stand up, but Charlie grabbed the boys wrist, pulling him back down, and before he had a chance to even protest, Charlie's lips were on Nick's, kissing him nervously, his heart pounding in his chest, his mind swirling so fast he couldn't think straight, his insides feeling as if a fire had been ignited inside him. Nick kissed him back after the initial shock set in. The way Nick kissed him back, with so much fire and passion, it did exactly what Charlie had asked Nick to do for him.
It made him feel alive and suddenly, Draco was the only thing he needed in his life. He needed to keep this. He needed someone like Nick Nelson like this, forever. Their kiss grew more intimate in time, both of them exploring each other's mouths, each of them getting lost in the feeling of the other until they were both completely breathless and needed to pull away from air. Charlie couldn't get the smile off his face, his hair a bigger mess than usually from the hands that had been tangled in his hair. Nick looked the same way, hair in a mess.
They both looked at each other and smiled. Nick cuddled back into his chest, head back on his chest. That was until Charlie heard a light snore. He looked down and saw his beautiful dark blonde boyfriend, asleep in his arms. He pulled the duvet over him and caressed his back slowly in circles. Nick jerked awake, his eyes shifting back and forth, trying to place where he was. Charlie touched his arm gently as he moved himself around and sat up. "It's okay, Nick, you're safe." Finally, the blonde's body stilled and he sighed. A moment later, he started shaking and Charlie scooted back on the sheets, pulling Nick so his back was against Charlie's chest. "It's alright, Nick. You're okay. We're okay."
Nick took a few deep breaths and Charlie let him have his space, kissing the blonde's shoulder softly. He knew Nick usually liked to talk about his nightmares, so Charlie just held him until he was ready. Eventually, Nick calmed down and relaxed, pushing himself out of Charlie's arms and turning over, back onto his stomach. Charlie moved to lay next to him, a hand on his back. Reaching up, Charlie brushed a strand of hair out of Nick's face. "Do you want to talk about it?" As soon as he asked, little tears began to form in the corners of Nick's eyes. "Um..." He started "You don't have to, love. You don't have to say anything." Nick shook his head, wiping at his eyes. "No. I just...I never told you about this one before." "That's okay. You still don't have to. I won't judge you either way, you know that. I love you."
After a moment, Nick took a deep breath and spoke in a whisper. "It was after we first met and with Ben sexually assaulting you. When you started crying, I didn't know what to do, that's why I touched your arm to make sure you were okay." "I know you were. We sorted it together as one." "Yeah we did." Nick sat up, sitting between Charlie's legs, the back of his head resting on Charlie's chest.
It was the next morning when Charlie awoke on his alarm, getting up, walking out of his bedroom to get ready for school as he heard his bed shift from his room. He walked back to his bedroom after using the toilet. He got himself dressed as Nick rolled over, eyes opening, spotting Charlie who was getting ready "Morning." "Good morning," Nick sat up, sitting on his knees to open the curtains "Charlie?" "Yeah?" "There's something I need to tell you." "Go on." "I sort of spoke to Headmaster Barnes and he said I can come back to Truham for another two more years for sixth form, and the good news is that we'll still be in the same tutor group." "That's amazing." Charlie landed on top of his boyfriend "Better get ready then." The blonde got up.
