"I'VE BEEN OKAY, I'VE JUST missed you guys." ry said smiling, they were in matt's minivan. matt in the driver's seat, chris in the passenger, naiomi in the middle back seat with rynn to the left of her and nick to the right.
"stop saying that like you genuinely missed all of us. just say you missed chris and get it over with." nick says laughing and rolling his eyes, ry reached over nai to hit nick softly on his shoulder. "ow! just kidding, that didn't hurt."
"what about you, naiomi?" chris asked slightly turning around. "how have you been?"
the girl didn't know whether to answer truthfully, she was hesitant to answer and that caused matt to look at her through the rear-view mirror and ry to slightly elbow her.
"uh- i've been okay. not perfect, of course. but you know, i'm better than i used to be. having rynn as a roommate helps a lot, and just knowing i have you guys by my side also helps a lot." she said plastering a fake smile on her face. she knows she missed matthew, she just didn't know how to say it.
"matt, how have you been?" she asked instantly regretting the question.
"oh. i've been fine, actually. ever since the movie night i had with you, nai. us talking and everything helped open my eyes. i'm glad we're all best friends."
"guys, send the pictures for the photo dump." nick says as they all get on their phones and search.
