IT'S DECEMBER 24
They're all busy preparing for our Christmas dinner later. My other cousins and I naman inaayos namin yung mga gifts sa Christmas tree dito sa sala.
"Did you already have a gift for me?" kuya Vinny asked.
"Of course wala." I said.
"Edi wala ka ring gift from me." he said and make a belat pa to me binato ko naman siya ng unan.
"Guys, stop na baka magkasakitan pa kayo jan." saway naman samin ni tita Christine and we stopped naman.
After we do our tasks naglaro naman na kami dito sa backyard ng vacation house namin dito sa Baguio. We're just enjoying the weather and place.
Until the Noche Buena na. We're just fixed ourselves for the Christmas eve. Our family are all wearing red. We waited until 12 AM at binati namin ang isa't isa ng "Merry Christmas Everyone!" and we all pray first before we eat.
"Let's open some gifts!" my dad announced and we're all excited.
"Merry Christmas Sirene here's our gifts for you." my titas and tito Martin said to me at binigay na yung mga regalo nila para sakin same sa iba.
We're all happy while opening our gifts from each other. Until we decided to sleep narin dahil it's already 3 AM na.
In the morning. We go to the church and pumasyal lang kami dito sa Baguio. Dahil tomorrow babalik na ulit kami sa Manila.
We all went to the Mansion here in Baguio kung saan tumutuloy ang presidente pag pupunta dito. Nasa labas o gate lang naman kami dahil we're not allowed to go there dahil di naman president dad ko. Madami ding tao na nagpupunta dito.
"Dad, can I ask you something?" I said.
"Sure baba what is it?" dad said.
"Do you want to be a president like lolo?" I asked at napatigil naman siya sa tanong ko.
"Your mama Meldy want me to be a president just like your lolo but for me. I just want to help all the filipinos even I'm not president. Why did you ask?" dad said.
"Nothing." I said and smiled.
"Why do you want me to be president?" dad also asked me.
"Hmm to be honest daddy I don't want you to be president because I'm afraid." I said and pouted.
"But why are you afraid?" he asked.
"I'm afraid history might repeat itself." I said.
"Listen to me Sirene when you help your kababayan willingly and from the heart. There's no need to be afraid because God will lead us. There is no such thing as perfection, especially when it comes to politics. They will always look for the bad or wrong side, no matter how good you are. That's how politics works. The people, that you're serving are the most important." dad explained it to me.
"Dad are you happy being a public servant and politician even there's so many people don't like us?" I said.
"Yes I'm happy baba. Lahat ng may ayaw sakin at satin let them be. Like what I said ang mas mahalaga ay makatulong ka sa mga tao." he said.
"I'm so proud of you dad, you're so strong!" I said and hugged him.
"Also be strong baba, daddy will always be here to protect all of you specially your mom and the four of you." he said and kissed me on my forehead.
Mahirap talaga maging politician kaya ayoko pumasok sa politika soon even its on our blood.
We had a lunch in some resto here in Baguio before we get back to our vacation house.
"Sirene ohh." kalabit naman sakin ni kuya Vinny and he's holding a cockroaches.
"WAAAAH!!" sigaw ko naman at tumakbo naman ako kay kuya Sandro.
"Sirene what is it??" asik niya dahil nag biyabit talaga ako sa kanya.
"It's cockroaches!" I said.
"Vinny ano ba! Ilayo mo nga samin yan! Get out of me Sirene!" asik ni kuya Sands ulit.
"It's fake!" he said.
"It's fake? It's looks like real kaya." I said.
"Try to look at it." kuya Vinny said.
"Where did you get that?" I asked pero scary pa din.
"I bought it awhile ago in the park." he answered.
"It's still scary." I said.
"Natatakot ka jan eh mukha ka namang ipis." he said and laughed at me so hard.
"Ipis pala ha!" kinuha ko naman yung fake cockroaches at sinubo ko sa kanya sabay takbo.
"Si-sirene! what did you do!" asik niya sakin.
"Yummy cockroaches!" I said while laughing and nag bleh pa ako.
After a few days December 31 na and we all just preparing for new year's eve later with the Marcoses. Every new year's eve lagi kaming kumukuha ng small venue good for us lang.
"Happy New Year Family!" tita Imee greeted us.
"Tita wala pa." kuya Vinny said.
"Practice lang eto naman basag trip ng tita niya." she said to kuya Vinny and we all laughed.
"Hays salamat at nakauwi na kayong 3. Masaya na ulit ang unica hija natin." tita Irene said when he saw my 3 brothers.
"Aalis parin naman sila tita." I said.
"Hahaha it's okay at least we're all complete today." tita Irene said.
"Makakasama narin naman namin si Sirene, tita soon sa London." kuya Sands said.
"At mom ninyo naman yung malulungkot at iiyak araw araw." dad said and laughed hinampas naman siya ng mahina ni mom.
"Syempre sino bang ina ang di malulungkot. Malayo sa kanya yung 4 niyang anak." mom said and pouted.
"It's for their own goods naman." dad said.
"Kaya nga support ako sa plano na yan kahit mahirap sakin." mom said.
"Independent na nga yang 3 eh kaya for sure Sirene will be independent woman too just like me her tita Imee." tita Imee proudly said.
"Pati sa lovelife?" tita Irene said.
"Ay no no sayang ganda. Wag maging independent woman sa lovelife keri lang yan." tita Imee said.
"Tita it's a big no." kuya Sands said.
"It's a no talaga." saad naman ng mga cousins ko.
"I told you guys. Mahihirapan magkaroon ng lovelife yang si Sirene. Her 3 brothers palang and other cousins." tita Imee said.
"8 guys ang pagdadaanan." dad said and laughed.
i just smiled kasi wala pa naman sa isip ko yang lovelife na yan. I'm still young and I need to focus on my study.
Until 12 AM it's New Year na.
"HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!" sigaw naming lahat.
"Another year to celebrate." mama Meldy said and we make beso and greet each other na.
Our Christmas and New year celebration is fine we enjoyed it so much.
Until dumating yung oras na babalik na yung 3 kong kuya sa London.
"I won't cry na." I said to them.
"Don't worry, we will back to your graduation." kuya Sands said.
"We will be there promise." kuya Si said.
"Never na absent." kuya Vinny said.
I just hugged them tightly dahil months na naman bibilangin ko para makita sila.
"See you again soon kuyas." I said.
