"Listen up, Senku!" yelled a voice that could've shaken the Science Club room as they slammed open the door.

Taiju, a burly teen, who–despite the differences–was friends with Senku.

"I've made up my mind. I'm going to confess the feelings I've had for Yuzuriha for the past five years!" he declared.

A strikingly shorter female adorned in black, walks around him during this speech, walking over to Senku's work area with a stray stool in tow.

The girl snorts as she plops herself down, running a hand through her blonde hair, her fingertips escaping the blue ends, "You're the only one left for him to tell, he's already pestered me all day to tell me this."

"Yeah? Well, that sure does sound interesting," The scientist started in a disinterested tone, never looking up from his project, "Amelie and I'll be cheering for you so hard our vocal cords snap. From here in this science lab," he told him with blatant sarcasm.

Taiju's face brightened, "You will? Thanks, you guys!"

Senku covered his ear from the noise.

It was sarcasm Taiju didn't catch.

The now-named Amelie just sighed, playing with the toothpick in her mouth, chuckling under her breath at some of the club members watching the school rebel warily, they expected her to snap at some point, she reckoned.

Senku spoke up, "Shut up. We're not cheering one millimeter for you, you big oaf."

Taiju was shocked by this 'revelation', "What?! Make up your mind!"

Amelie crossed her arms, her brows creasing as a thought came to her attention, "It's been five years and you haven't said anything? That's just sad, dude."

"How illogical can you be, idiot?" Senku added.

The scientist seized a flask, "Anyway, I've got something for you that's logical as hell," he began, as he presented the lover boy with the fluid inside, "A drug that will stimulate your pheromones output to the max." A weird aura surrounded him, "A love potion, if you will." he cackled evilly, "Take this, and you're set ten billion percent."

Amelie's brows continued to furrow since there was obviously something up, "Senku, chill on the evil vibes, I've got enough for the both of us."

Taiju stared at the love potion with intensity, before ultimately pouring it down the drain.

"...Thanks, Senku, but sorry. I can't rely on cheap tricks," Taiju told him before turning to leave.

Amelie did a two-finger salute, "Good luck, Teddy Bear."

The other club members turned to Senku with hope in their eyes.

One of them spoke up, "Seriously, Senku? A love potion?"

"Like those even exist," Senku almost rolled his eyes as he casually flung a match into a sink, the fluid catching on fire.

Amelie simpered, "Love potions aren't real, idiot, I honestly thought it was vodka until I could smell it. But it's something else, it looks familiar."

"It's just gasoline. I refined it from bottle caps," he turned to the science club members, "Think of the molecular structure of polythene, moron. It's just a long gasoline molecule with a few hydrocarbons chopped off. You can tell by looking at it."

The female rolled her eyes, "Only you. There was a risk that that could've killed Taiju if he'd drank it."

"I was ten-billion percent sure he wasn't going to drink it."

Amelie hummed in agreement, "Yeah, he's too straight-laced for something like that."

Senku stood by the window to watch Taiju's confession, passing Amelie her favorite strawberry drink. Suddenly she scowled as her phone vibrated, taking it out to read the message.

<<Get here now, Riku. We have things to discuss.>>

She sighed, "Damn, I gotta go. The old man's gonna start calling me back to back in a minute if I don't."

Senku's eyes narrowed at this, "Yeah, I'll see you later."

"Tell me how it goes after," Amelie offered a soft smile, "See ya, Senku."

The rebel teen sensibly ran down the hall, practically flying down the steps to get to the next floor.

Her phone rang and she paused at the bottom floor, grumbling as she answered.

"Riku, are you on your way?"

"It's Amelie. I'm still at school, I'll be there in half an hour."

"You'd be home sooner if you didn't loiter around that science club almost every day."

She sighed, "Look, I should be able to do what I'd like with my free time. Stop acting as if you own me, okay? I don't care what you want. I don't like you."

"Riku-"

She snarled, "You don't understand me, you don't even try to, you just–make this life plan for me and force it. No! I refuse!"

Whatever else he said was white noise when she saw a bright green light, "What...is that? Wait...that's outside...Taiju! Yuzuriha!"

Amelie could only just make it to the window before darkness overcame her.
