How many silhouettes can one trap in oneself? How many faces can a mask hide...

The man saw the lady fluttering away from his sight like a timid gazelle. His fists clenched into a ball as she disappeared from his eyes still fixated upon the skyscraper across him. The damned rain had already obstructed his view of her and interrupted his newfound sight-seeing session.
Just a little more!
But now the little gazelle was insightful and cautious enough to sense his predatory gaze, which he would always keep under masks. Even the near ones couldn't sense it unless he wanted them too, lest it terrify those poor souls. And this woman had just been able to break through his every shell from a mile apart, without his consent.
That too without lifting even a single finger or saying another word. And looking straight into his eyes with a death-stare, how courageous!
It spited him, how from afar he couldn't make out much of her physically. Yet she managed to intrigue him.
Just a little more! Let me look at you a little more!
And the way her face and features morphed into something mirroring his own- the melancholy, the emptiness and the graveness the instant their eyes met, he knew this woman was something he could relate too. It had been years since he felt like this.
I never expected this from you. Why do you fluctuate so much, Alexandra?
He had never saw any other person on the children's floor before. He had always ensured the little one's safety before anything else. And his favorite pass-time was to observe those angels fluttering and laughing, but always from afar. He would never go near them.
He was a busy man with not even a second to spare. But whenever he could, he would.
But never had he seen or recounted anyone else interested in them from the firm, other than the staff and the parents.
So, her presence was definitely worth noticing.
She definitely intrigued him, he agreed.
But, she was just a mere intern. However two - faced she appeared, she was just a discardable pawn whose terms of behaviour fluctuation were none of his business.
A harmless curiosity. That's all it is.
And with that, he paced his way back to his destination.
And here in Alex's mind, same thoughts were swirling in her head amidst her thumping headache which arose as she tried to forget the dark encounter she just had with a mystifying stranger.
She pinched the bridge of her nose as her eyes closed to relieve some pain.
Ha! Can't believe I was being such a wimp!
She would not want to see him again.
