"By the next year, hopefully, you'll be able to have the apartment."
In many years, did Alex feel so giddy about something. If she worked good enough for the remaining year, then she could have her degree and a fulfilling job waiting for her to bag, and an apartment where she could safely keep herself and Dani.
And another good news that Dani announced as soon as she came back from the meeting with Mr. Singh's son had them bursting on cloud nine.
"And this was how I got into the Eden Imperial School of Arts. I mean, I am not officially admitted yet, but apparently they checked the mock scores. And they offered some of us pre - admission seats."
Dani was jumping on his feet, laughing and boasting ever since he stepped in and pounced on Alex.
Frostford Group of Academies had a very unique system. Although the admission process here was similar to other prestigious universities; for some special fields, it offered a pre - admission offer. All you had to do was to apply with the forms that were released in July - August and give a test in your local test centers. If you passed the cutoff, which was off course very tough given the competition from students worldwide and the difficulty level, and managed to maintain the requisite grades in high school, you could guarantee a seat even before high school graduation. And if your test scores were good enough, you could even bag a scholarship.
That was how Alex got excepted into Salvatore, and now Dani was accepted into Eden Imperial with Liam.
"I am proud of both of you. Liam too. Being accepted into Frostford is amazing."
Alex smiled as she served the Chicken Alfredo on the ceramic. Shaking her head, she kept on going, "I think if we can afford it, let us buy some stuff in advance. Culinary books, uniforms, and maybe some of those mannequins with Liam for his fashion school -"
Blabbering to her hearts content, she kept on piling up the different dishes she had cooked, or at least tried to.
Liam looked at her moving and talking so rapidly with bewildered eyes. This was the first time he had saw the woman acting so swift, ever since he met her for the first time an year ago when he started dating Dani. But Dani felt warm inside. It was as if he saw a tinge of the old Alex.
But, he hated to break this pleasant silence in which her sounds echoed.
"I am sorry Alex.", his voice droopy as Liam left.
Alex snapped her towards him, her eyes inquisitive.
"Its just....Liam luckily got a full ride you know," he tried to sound happy for him to which Alex nodded with a smile, but as she saw carefully, his eyes gave away, "But, I kinda didn't. . . . I tried my level best but-"
Alex palmed his cheeks to calm him down. Though he was two years younger than her, he was significantly taller.
"Its ok. You didn't need to tell me that.", but then her peaceful expression contorted into a worrisome one, ". . . don't tell me at all that this was what kept you so quiet."
