2ND PERSON POV
"Please let me stay here" you whined pushing yourself further into the beanbag
"Y/n, it's bedtime" Scarlett sighed, standing up. You and Scarlett have been in the library for the afternoon reading books together and playing some games
"But mama I wanna stay with you, you always get to stay down here and read at night" You pouted and slumped down on the bean bag
"But I'm an adult y/n" Scarlett defended and held her hand out for you which you ignored
"But- no mama" You whined throwing your head back and turning over hiding your face in the jean bag
"You're being silly y/n, you're 12 years old and I'm not having an stupid argument with you about staying up later than you should be" Scarlett said getting agitated as she was just as tired as you
"Get off me" You said nudging Scarlett away when she tried to pick you up, Scarlett didn't listen and hooked her hands under your armpits, turning you around and placing you on her hip. You may be 12, but you're very small and luckily Scarlett grew so she had enough strength to carry you.
"Your so annoying" You mumbled into Scarlett's shoulder and wrapped your legs around Scarlett's waist. Scarlett hummed and continue walking upstairs to your bedroom. Laying you down in your bed
"I promise I will stay up with you one night and we can read together and have games but your to tired right now, I can see it in your eyes" Scarlett sighed sitting down on the bed opposite you and placing her hand in your stomach. You gave her half a smile and a nod.
"Goodnight, I love you so much" Scarlett said pecking your lips then giving you a long kiss on your forehead and cheek
"Night night, I love you more mama" You giggled when Scarlett kissed your cheeks continuously making it tickle. Scarlett leaned back, pulling up your duvet and tucking you in making sure you were comfy before leaving the room.
Part of you wanted to sneak downstairs and go back to the library. But you knew that your mom wanted you to stay upstairs and sleep as she was already tired enough. You battled against it, grabbing your teddy and bringing him close to your chest before trying to dose of to sleep.
Only a few hours later, you were woken but a big thud of thunder and a bright light shining through your window. You shot up quickly looking around, grabbing your teddy and holding it close
"Mama" you shouted in hopes Scarlett would be up. When she didn't reply, you swung your feet over your bed and stepped out of it.
"Mama please" you shouted, tears streaming down your face as you ran out your room and straight down to Scarlett's
"Mama" you repeated knocking on her door and opening it up running into the room looking around for her, but she wasn't in there. The only place she could be was downstairs in the library. You ran downstairs as fast as your feet could carry you and sprinted into the library running about until you saw Scarlett sitting on a bean bag reading a book
"Mommy" you screamed when another thud of thunder shook, Scarlett immediately looked up worried, only just catching you collapsing into her as you ran straight towards her
"Make it stop, make it stop" you cried hitting your hands over your ears and hiding your face in Scarlett's neck
"Hey, it's okay, y/n your okay" Scarlett said gently wrapping her arms around your waist and rocking the both of yous
"No, no, make it go away" you sobbed wrapping your legs around her waist, trying to stay as close to her as possible.
"Woah. Y/n look, look at me" Scarlett said pulling you back softly
"Your okay, it can't get you in here" Scarlett soothed cupping your cheeks and wiping your tears away. You screamed and hid your face back in Scarlett's chest when you heard more thunder.
"We can cuddle up and read a book if you want to" Scarlett suggest grabbing the blanket that was beside her. You nodded into Scarlett's chest, still gripping onto her. Scarlett draped the blanket over you shoulders, tucking it into her. She also picked up your teddy that you dropped when you ran into Scarlett
"You left this little guy behind" Scarlett said in a funny voice and making the teddy kiss you face, you giggled and took back the teddy, holding it to your chest
"This book" Scarlett asked picking up the usual book that yous too would read together. You have her a small hum of approval and turned on her lap so you could see better. Scarlett shifted back against the bean bag.
Scarlett started reading the book as you cuddled into her, you lifted your head up, looking at her. Your eyes wandered around her face, you both had the same features, green eyes, perfectly shaped eyebrows, big rosey cheek bones when you smile. Scarlett continued to read but looked down at you for a few seconds. She smiled at you, kissing your forehead and then going back to reading the book.
"They all lived happily ever after" Scarlett read the iconic fairytale ending line, before looking down at her sleepy daughter who was just fighting back sleep. Scarlett placed the book down, lifting you closer to her chest, cradling you. Scarlett rocked you like you were a toddler again, patting your thighs in a rhythm as you slowly began to fall asleep. Once Scarlett felt in her arms that you had fallen over, she stood up gently, shifting you so she had one arm under you bum and the other over you back and then carried you out the room and back upstairs but back to Scarlett's room.
Scarlett placed you in the middle of her bed as she quickly changed her clothes into pyjamas before getting into bed beside you. You stretched out your arms and legs, feeling Scarlett beside you and cuddled up right into the side of her
"GoodNight my lovely girl" Scarlett whispered placing a kiss on the side of your head and on your cheek, placing her hand on the back of your head holding you close as she also drifted off into sleep.
