A/N: So sorry I didn't post this yesterday! I was really busy, and it completely slipped my mind! I'll try setting a reminder for myself. Again, really sorry for leaving everyone on a cliffhanger!
"We did it!" The Portuguese Empire cried.
"We've only won this battle, they will likely come back." REC pointed out calmly. "But yes, we did scare them off." He let out a rare smile.
Hopefully with the Russian Empire relaying information back to us, we will win the whole war. The Austrian Empire signed.
They were all waiting at the agreed meeting point for RE, which was behind the Spanish castle.
REC checked the time. "He's late. That's unusual. Do you think something happened?"
Perhaps he is being kept by a meeting? I'm sure he'll be here soon. But AE was worried. REC was right, he was never late.
The Ottoman Empire stayed at the back of the group. The British, French and Spanish Empires were questioning the Russian Empire, trying to figure out what he told the others.
OE glared at the back of FE's head. He had seen her stab SWE when PE's invisibility turned off. Whether it was an accident or not, OE hated her for it, and it made him question his loyalties.
That did not stop him from helping the Purple Alliance capture RE when he betrayed them though. He felt guilty for it. He'd seen Russia's knee, and OE knew he would likely never walk properly again.
"Why did you betray us?" SE started, jolting OE out of his thoughts.
RE didn't answer, glaring glumly at the floor instead.
"What did you tell AE and the others?" FE tried.
Again, RE stayed silent.
"If you keep avoiding our questions, we'll break your other knee." BE threatened coldly.
That got a reaction, however small, from RE. "I don't know anything." He said, but OE thought he was lying.
"This is pointless, we should just get Belgium to scan his thoughts." FE said.
"Belgium has already left the castle. I told him his job was done. You can try chasing him down if you want." BE snorted.
"Can't the Ottoman Empire just catch up with him?" SE glanced back at OE.
"Sure, I'll go." OE shrugged, then sped out of the castle in the span of a few moments. He stopped at the front door, wondering if he should ask which way Belgium even went.
As he was turning around, a voice whispered in his ear. "Don't move unless you want to die."
OE stopped, chilled. "Who are you?" He asked, but a second later, he knew the answer. That was REC's voice, and he was invisible. Was AE beside him, ready to turn him into gold?
"That doesn't matter. Where is RE?" Canada said.
Oh, that's what they were there for. As he was pondering ways to not answer, he felt a sharp pain around his wrist. REC must have grabbed it.
"Answer."
"We found out that he had betrayed us. He's being interrogated as we speak." OE blurted. The pain disappeared, and he rubbed his wrist.
REC cursed, then seemed to compose himself. "Anything else you'd like to share?"
Not that I'd like to share. The Ottoman Empire thought to himself. "No." He said out loud.
"You tell anyone we were here, I'll strangle you with my bare hands in your sleep." REC's voice was laced with ice. OE nodded, and then waited for a while until he assumed they were gone.
I guess I'll go ask which way Belgium went. OE thought, then sped back to the dungeons.
