You and Robin spent the entire afternoon translating the Russian code until you finally had half of it.

"The week is long, the silver cat feeds, when blue meets yellow in the west."

"I mean, it just can't be right." Steve said as he pulled down the grid to lock Scoops Ahoy. All the stores were closed and the mall was empty and dark by the time you were leaving. It gave off an eerie feeling to see it so abandoned.

"It's right." Robin replied and started to walk.

"Honestly I think it's great news." Dustin said as he followed her.

"How is this great news?" Steve chuckled. You waited for him to finish closing the store. "I mean, so much for being American heroes."

"It's too specific, obviously a code." You replied as you and Steve walked alongside each other a few meters behind Robin and Dustin.

"What do you mean a code?" Steve asked.

"Like a super secret spy code." Dustin blurted out.

"That's a total stretch." Steve looked at you to check if you actually believed any of it and you shrugged.

"I don't know, is it?" Robin theorized.

"You two are buying into this?" He sounded both irritated and confused.

"Listen, just for kicks, let's entertain the possibility that it is a secret Russian transmission." Robin looked over her shoulder at the two of you while you walked down the uncanny open area, barely lit up by neon lights. "What do you think they were gonna say? 'Fire the warhead at noon'?"

"Exactly." Dustin agreed.

"And the translation is correct." You assured Steve and he shook his head at you. "So why would anyone talk like that unless they're trying to mask the meaning of the message?"

"And why would anyone want to mask the true meaning of the message unless the message was somehow sensitive?" Robin stipulated.

"Exactly." Dustin repeated. "Evil Russians."

"I can't believe that I'm going to agree with this strange kid, but yeah, totally evil Russians." You giggled. Steve rolled his eyes.

"So how do we crack it?"

"Well, I guess we translate the rest and hopefully a pattern emerges." Dustin and Robin continued speculating and walking while Steve grabbed your arm to stop you.

"It's probably going to take a super genius to track it, but.. Where's Steve and (Y/N)?"

Steve searched his pockets for coins and you watched with confusion. "Uh, it's a quarter, I need- do you have a quarter?" He had stopped you in front of the mall's little rocking pony.

"You sure you're tall enough for that ride?" You asked.

"Quarter!" He yelled back and you handed him a quarter from your pocket. He inserted the coin and a melody started playing.

"You need help getting up, little Stevie?" Robin added to your joke.

"Shh. Would you two just shut up and listen." He hushed her and you realized what he was doing.

"It's the song from the tape." You stated. "Dustin, can you play it again?"

"Holy shit." Dustin picked up the tape from his backpack to play it. "It's the exact same song from the recording."

"Maybe they have horses like these in Russia?" Robin suggested.

Steve read the name of the horse out loud and glanced at Robin, "'Indiana Flyer'? I don't... I don't think so. This code didn't come from Russia."
