i'm so sorry for this mess of a fanfic and it's such a bad backstory but i had no fantasy and i havent even read through these chapters so there might be 100s of spelling mistakes and grammaer errors plus this is not my first language and i lack patience so sorry for repeating the same words and having a tiny vocabulary

"I mean, you have to admit, as a feat of engineering alone, this is pretty impressive." Dustin confessed as your misfit assembly walked through the long corridor.

"What are you talking about?" Steve replied. "It's a total fire hazard. There's no stairs, there's no exit, there's just an elevator that drops you halfway to hell."

You giggled and Erica said, "They're Commies. You don't pay people, they cut corners."

"To be fair to our Russian comrades, I don't think this tunnel was designed for walking." You responded. "Think about it, they developed the perfect system for transferring that cargo."

"It all comes into the mall like any old delivery." Robin agreed. "And then they load it up onto those trucks and nobody's the wiser."

"You think they built this whole mall so they could transport that green poison?" Steve asked.

"I very seriously doubt that it's something as boring as poison." Dustin had a serious but interested tone. "It's gotta be much more valuable. Like promethium or something."

"What the hell is promethium?" Steve asked. Right. He probably failed chemistry.

Robin replied with, "It's what Victor Stone's dad used to make Cyborg's bionic and cybernetic components."

"You're all so nerdy, it makes me physically ill." Erica mocked. It was probably the first time someone had called you a nerd but, yeah, maybe you were. You liked school and the different subjects, including science and chemistry.

"No, no, no. Don't lump me in with them. I'm not a nerd, alright?" Steve objected.

"Why so sensitive, Harrington?" You teased. "Afraid of losing cool points to a ten year old child?"

"No, I'm just saying I don't know jack shit about Prometheus."

"Promethium." Dustin corrected. "Prometheus is a Greek mythological figure, but whatever. All I'm saying is, it's probably being used to make something."

"Or power something." Robin suggested.

"Like a nuclear weapon?" You asked. God, this secret underground base was endless.

"Totally."

Steve sighed. "Walking toward a nuclear weapon, that's great. That'd be great." He turned his head to you and Robin with a fake sincere look.

"But if they're building something, why here?" You questioned. "I mean, Hawkins. Seriously. Of all places."

Robin agreed. "At the very best we're a toilet stop on your way to Disneyland... but maybe that's it." Robin and Erica kept on walking, speculating, while you noticed Steve and Dustin stopping.

"You think the Russians know?"

"About...? They could."

"So it's connected?"

You stopped in your tracks and looked over your shoulder with a raised eyebrow(the rock face) to see the boys whispering close to each other.

"I don't know, but... it's.."

"Possible." Both said at the same time.

"What's possible?" You asked and Robin and Erica stopped to see what was going on.
