This Bittersweet Love

Her Answer

After a long term of events and work. Days passed. I came back home to see the lights were turn on so I guess Aunt Uchiha hasn't left yet. I went upstairs,change my clothes and went down. I went in to greet her but got suprise instead. It wasn't aunt Uchiha this whole time. But him. The food was ready at the table. Candles already light up. He looked at me and gave a small smile. This was really shocking.

"Um....Welcome back."

"T....hank you."

"You're just in time. Dinner's ready. Let's eat."

Too stun to speak, I nod and sat down on the opposite side of him. And we both started eating. His sweet gesture was really making me fall for him more. The food was so delicious, looking at how much he has done for me even preparing a meal. I smile to myself.

"What's wrong? don't you like it?"

"No, it's not like that, they taste great. Just haven't had a hearty meal in such a long time. When did you even prepared it?"

"Well, I just help a little. Aunt Uchiha did all the work. *Smile* "

"*Soft laugh* it tastes really good."

"Glad that you like it.. I noticed you looked so pale and exhausted. You should take some rest. Like just a day off."

"Hm... I can't do that for now. There's still a lot of designing to do. And they are all due for coming award show. And I still can't leave my assistant designer all the work to herself."

"I see. Let's go out after all this workloads done then."

"Well, yeah let's go on a vacation after all this."

"Sure."

*Finish eating*

"Well, you can rest. I'll wash the dishes. You must be tired too."

I started cleaning the dishes, and suddenly two hands slid on my waist.

"K-Kai?"

"Continue what you were doing."

I blush,Feeling his warmth, I continue to wash the dishes. He stayed in the same position until I finish the chore.

"Kai.... I've finished. You must-"

I turned around to find his face close to mine. My heart was pounding as if I was going for a roller coaster ride. It was already red enough but his face close to mine made my face more redder than ever. I quickly turn my face away, not wanting to embarrass myself anymore. He also realise that and step back a little. There was an awkward silence for a minute........

"Should we go for a walk?"

"Love too."

{Both of them walk without talking to each other. Their palms tightening. Both of them enjoying the quiet silence side by side until they reach the place where the blade breakers used to battle together.The breeze made the grass dance. With fireflies playing around. It has been a long  time since _____ saw fireflies.______ close her eyes and remember those days when she spent all her time helping her brother and the blade breakers. With Kenny, she used to sit under the sakura tree and watch them while Hilary used to help them train for their upcoming battle. She smiled at the memory and then open her eyes. She turns her head to find Kai looking into her eyes. Her breath hitches realising that he was so close to her. Their lips almost touching together.}

" You look beautiful when you smile, you know."

{It almost made her heart pound out of her chest. She was having butterflies in her stomach. She had felt this before but this time it was more stronger than ever. She look at him. His sharp feature,the strong smell of cologne that calms her down, his lips  and lastly those ruby eyes which holds something for her in there. She noticed an old scar near his cheek. Unconsciously she holds her hand up, brushing on the small scar softly. That made Kai felt shivers down his spine.She couldn't help it. She knows she has fallen in love with the phoenix wielder in front of her. She knows what she wants and she's going to do it. She's going to tell him how much she loves him and she's going to tell him that she's ready to be his forever. She's gonna give her answer to him today.}

"*Looking into his eyes softly*. Remember the time when you confess to me in the kitchen before the wedding?''

"I do...*smile*"

"And I realised that I have never said anything to that confession."

"It's ok ______. Take your time. I'm always waiting for you."

"*Smiles*Thank you. But I want to inform you something."

" What is it?"

"Well, let me give you my answer. My answer to that confession of yours Mr. Hiwatari."

{Suddenly Kai's heart started beating really fast. He's trying to act cool on the outside but on the inside he was  feeling nervous. He close his eyes.}

"Tell me then."

"*Inhales* We started off on a tough road. And we are still on the middle of it. But I want to hold your hand and face them, those coming obstacles together with you. So lets lead each other when one gets distracted. I know I'm still wounded and it will take time. So hold me, heal me and please never let me go. If I get broken again. I don't know what I'll do or what I'll become.And now my answer is I love you too. Kai Hiwatari."

{He open his eyes. And there he saw her looking ethereal under the moonlight. Her soft ash brown hair falling down softly on her shoulder.That was the limit to his patience. He couldn't think of anything. Without wasting another second, He gently pull her to him and kiss her. She closed her eyes and melt down under him. The moonlight made both of them look surreal. The kiss was not the one filled with lust or passion. It was one of those filled with love and sincerity. The breeze calm them more. The grass and wild flowers dance merily as if nature was celebrating the love they had for each other. Hearing those words made him felt like the luckiest person. They both broke the kiss and look at each other with adoration and love. Her eyes mesmerize him. He knew he had to protect her and he'll do anything for her.}

"______ Hiwatari. I promise to hold you,cherish you,fight with you in whatever obstacle is coming in our way,keep pace with you and give you all my love, support you in everything you do and be with you in times of wellness, happiness,sadness and in health forever, till death do us apart."

"*Smiles and put her forehead on his *Till death do us apart. Kai Hiwatari."
