"I baked you brownies!"
I hear you say from across the hall.
"He loves those."
No he doesn't.
He loves pies with little fruits in them, preferably cherry or strawberry but he wouldn't mind apples too.
But you wouldn't know, would you?
I look away because, who am I to say something?
He chose you over me anyway.

"I made you brownies!"
She says as her delicate arms wrap around my waist.
I try not to pull my face into a frown.
She forgot again, That I don't like brownies, and I can't eat them anyway.
And while she wasted all her time making something I don't even like.
I spent all time thinking about you Watching us across the hall, knowing exactly what's going on.
And I can't help but feel guilty as I silently wish it was you in my arms.

I hold up the freshly baked tray lf brownies, that took me hours to make just for you.
And yet, Your face barely shows an ounce of excitement.
Instead your eyes wonder towards her.
And I wonder what keeps me her if I'm just losing my heart to someone who doesn't even care.
But where there is love there is pain and so I hold back my silent tears.
And wish that someday, you'll love me the same way you do her.
