The sun was shining onto me as I climbed out of bed, I slid open the curtains revealing the clear blue sky. I walked down the hall grasping my pre-flight kit, shit I'm late. I swung open the door to the changing rooms
"Late aren't you?" Phoenix laughed

"Shut the hell up Phoenix, you didn't even get picked for the team" I replied checking my locker, I heard rooster laugh under his breath, he high-fived me
"Well done love" he laughed

"Thanks deary"

"We are gonna do so well today!" He looked into my eyes and held my face

"I can still see you guys" Hangman said
We all laughed.

We stood in pre-flight listening to the last instructions, I climbed into my plane,
"Oh and Miss Mitchell, Rooster is your Navigator today" the instructor smiled. Rooster smirked and climbed in the back of my plane, I could see my father looking straight at the plane clearly having a moment. We took off and Rooster got on the mic
"Pulling into a negative G pushover"

"Shit bogies on us, can you check the radar Rooster?" I took a sharp turn round to try and loose the fighter plane "no no I'm switching to guns."

"Good choice" rooster smiled in the back of the plane.

At the beach that night all of the men in our squadron played football on the beach.
"I'm joining that shit" I smirked

"Come on darling!" Rooster shouted still playing,
I ran in grasping the ball, and pressing it firmly into the soft sand. Hangman looked at me
"Your good at this" hangman high-fived me.
After everybody had left Rooster and I packed up,
"Damn I'm so tired" I layed on the ground

"Same" Rooster sat next to me, I placed my head on his legs. The moon shone bright and reflected off Rooster's aviators, I took my hand and removed them getting so close to his face I could see his ocean blue eyes shining and his cheeks turn pink, just as I was about to move, rooster held my cheeks and kissed me. I had finally got my childhood best friend back.
