Chapter 29

Jade's POV

I woke up the next morning. Isinuot ko lang ang salamin ko saka tumingin sa table sa tabi ng kama namin ni Bonget. Every birthday ko kasi, may pa love letter yan eh.

Pero oo nga pala, nasa Ilocos pa sila ng mga bata. Nakakainis pa din talaga yung lalaking yun. Alam ng birthday ko eh.

Chineck ko din ang phone ko to see kung may message from him. Lo and behold, wala din pa greeting kahit sa text. Ang galing nuh? Napahinga ako ng malalim. Kalmahan mo Jade, may event ka pa ngayon kaya wag kang maha highblood sa asawa mo.

Bumangon nako saka tiningnan ang oras. 6am pa lang naman, may time pa para magprepare. Diko naman kelangan mag ayos ng sobra, kahit mag tshirt and jeans na lang siguro ako.

Naligo nako saka nagbihis. Like what Ive said kahit mag tshirt and jeans na lang ako, ayos na. Kaya Ive chose to wear a red polo shirt, a denim pants saka rubber shoes.

Before going out of our room, I called my secretary Grace to check for the last details. Okay na daw ang lahat since yesterday dahil nai-pack na ng staff namin yung mga gifts. Napangiti naman ako saka nakaramdam ng excitement.

Lumabas na nga ako at sinalubong ako nila Simon at Vinny. They just greeted me a happy birthday saka kami nagtuloy sa dining room para kumain. The chef chose to stay kahit pinapag day off ko, kaya ayan. May pagkain pa din kami for today.

Napansin ko ding parehas na naka red tong dalawa. Mabuti naman para uniformed kami tingnan. Sila ang tutulong saken mag distribute ng gifts mamaya eh.

'so tita, where's our first stop?' Simon asked habang kumakain

'we're going to Hospicio muna Si. Ayun nakalagay sa sched eh. Saka Sister Rose will be waiting for us at exactly 8am. We should hurry up na' I told him

Natapos na kaming kumain kaya pumunta na kami sa Hospicio de San Jose. Sinalubong naman kami ni Sister Rose.

'madam first lady, welcome back po' Sister Mary then approached me

Nagmano kaming tatlo sa kanila saka sumama sa stage na sinet up nila for us. Nasa gitna ako nila Vinny at Simon.

Nagstart lang yung program with prayers. After that, I was surprised kasi may gift din silang painting sa akin. Ginawa daw ito ng isa sa mga orphan dun. Binuksan ko ito and I was teary eyed. Family picture namin nila Bonget. Kumpleto kami dito including the Marcos boys. I thanked the kids saka bumalik sa pagkakaupo.

Maya maya, may batang babaeng lumapit sa akin saka may inabot na card. I smiled at her saka sya pinisil sa pisngi. She just giggled saka bumalik sa pwesto nya.

Binuksan ko yung sobre. Walang nakalagay kung kanino galing. Kinakabahan tuloy ako. Gantong ganto nung birthday ni Bonget at nung mga bata eh.

Huminga muna ako ng malalim saka ito binuksan. Its now or never mga mars. Nagulat naman ako sa nabasa ko.

Happiest birthday to the most selfless person that I have ever known in my entire life. No words can measure how thankful and grateful I am for all the sacrifices that you have done for me, for our kids, for my family and for this country.

I have seen how deeply you care about our fellow filipinos and as your husband, I couldn't be more proud in every projects that you lead. May it be a building for the homeless or a simple outreach program for the kids, as long as you can share what we have, it doesn't matter.

The day that I married you, you have embraced all of me. Thank you for accepting Sandro, Simon and Vinny. I can see that you actually love them more than you love me. And because of that, I fell for you even harder.
