1965

In 1946, 13 year old Patrica Hayward met 15 year old Benjamin Johnson on the way to school while walking and dodging the white kids that were throwing stuff at them.

Pat was from Michigan and Ben was from Gary, Indiana. Ben's family moved from place to place before settling in Detroit. Ben moved with his brother to Gary because that's where he was concived and born. And even though it took a lot to travel frequently they continued to go back home during the holidays.

On the 9th of November, in 1950 they brought their first set of twins Jeremy, and Jacob into the world, at the ages of 17 and 19. Now they soon went on to have 6 more children in the next 8 years.

Both Ben and Pat were from well off Families. Pat was mixed so her father's privilege got her quite a long way. And Ben's father owned a business so they had good money. He was also mixed. He was Mexican and black.

Ben worked as a waiter in a fancy ass, white only restaurant. The only way a colored person could get in was if they worked there, performed there, or they were of a very high status. And the only job they offered to 'negros' was custodian.

It paid good money though. With t0he amount of work he has to do there is no way you could say he didn't work hard.

Pat had a beautiful voice. When she was a teenager she would sing in night clubs and what not. She got laid hundreds each night, but she only ever really did for the pure enjoyment of it.

She sung because she liked to sing. The money was just a bonus. But don't get me wrong she still likes the money though. After the couple did get married the started to financially struggle.

Ben came from a well off African American family. His family wasn't rich, but they had wealth. They could live comfortably.

Before Ben met Patrica, he was stealing money from his parents. His father told him that he didn't feel comfortable with just giving him money. He didn't have a job, he dropped out of school, and he didn't even do what he was supposed to at home.

His parents wanted their son to have an honest job and make an honest living.

Ben thought differently, and he started stealing from everyone. His parents, when they found out they didn't say anything at first.

They wanted to know what he was going to do with the money. They would start giving him money again if, and only if, whatever he was doing with the money he had stolen, was important.

Soon they found out that he was just buying hard drugs.

He held a grudge. His mother and father were pissed at the fact that instead of just working hard like they had to do, he took from other hardworking people.

They just couldn't fathom the fact. They wanted to know where they went wrong. Infact, why was it satisfying to steal from the ones who work hard to get for themselves, and others.

His parents couldn't stand what he turned into. It was like a monster took over what was once a sweet innocent child. They left him out of their will. And he was distraught to find out that they put his children in.

He didn't find it fair that he was their biological child, and his children were too young to have that amount of money.

Even though he didn't want any children, he constantly got Patrica pregnant.

When The twins were born, he didn't even bother to show up. He just went and got drunk at a bar. And he continued the tradition. Every new child they had he was to not be there. He didn't show up, he swore they he never would.
