I ended up staying home not really excited to go to another one of laurel's book parties— I finally have some alone time to write my letters to belly. sending belly love letters has been a tradition that I do every summer.
It was something I could do to tell her how I feel without her knowing it was me— sort of like a secret admirer.
I always slide the notes under her door when she's not here— as I go to slide it under her door I hear the front door open then a hear the guys laughing.
I quickly slid the note under and went downstairs to see what they were laughing about " what are you guys doing home so early? " I asked walking into the living room
" nothing we just had some fun " Jeremiah laughs nudging Steven and Conrad— before I could ask what happened I see an aggravated belly walk into the kitchen

" Excuse me? " belly huffs " Okay, relax. We were just having a little fun. " Conrad jokes " you guys are assholes— all I wanted was to go to a drive-in with a guy that I think is cute and sweet, and you guys had to come and ruin it " belly remarks.
I gaze towards Conrad " what did yall do? "I asked in a low voice
" they spent their Saturday night crashing my first date for fun " belly reveals " really? that's low even for you Conrad " I huff glaring at him " low? that's low? why don't we talk about the love letters or that you're too scared to admit in love with— " Conrad pauses realizing what he just revealed
" Go to hell Conrad " I curse as tears simmered in my eyes.
I look around at belly to see her confused but also furious about what Conrad said " why don't you go smoke some more pot? " she hissed grabbing my hand and walking away
" Why don't you go look in the mirror some more? " Conrad growl regretting it instantly

I can't believe Conrad would say something like that. he knows how I feel about belly and he almost told her that.
I was sitting on the beach needing a break from everything that just happened when I feel someone sit next to me. " do you think I look in the mirror too much? " a soft voice asked " bels "I whispered pulling her closer to me " don't listen to what Conrad said— he's just an asshole " I continued
we just sit there, I was running my hands through belly's hair as her head laid in my lap— there was a comforting silence that none of us wanted to break. I was the first one to break the silence " bels there's something that I've been meaning to tell you "I started. she picks up her head and stares at me
" what is it Lora? " she asked in a quiet voice. my hands started to get shaky, my breathing started to pick up— I felt like I was on the verge of tears— a warm hand touch my cheek " breathe Lora— everything is gonna be fine " belly whispered
" bels I've liked you for years— not as a friend but as a lover, those letters you get under your door that's me " I confess "I know that you don't see me that way but— "I was interrupted by a pair of lips smashing into mine— before I could kiss back she pulled away
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to— "I pull her by her neck and connected our lips once again, we both melt into the kiss immediately— her lips were soft and tasted like cherry. we both fought for dominance but in the end, she won biting my lip as a distraction
my hands wrap around her neck while hers wraps around my waist pulling me into her. she breaks the kiss and starts to kiss my jawline and down to my neck. I let out little whimpers at the feeling of her kisses knowing when I wake up in the morning there's gonna be marks.
" bels " I whimper out when she hits a certain spot on my neck " found it " she giggles going back to attacking my neck— finally I realized what we were doing
" bels, stop— we're in public "I squeak knowing anyone could catch us— belly backs away looking up to my face, I know its a beet red color from how flustered I am
" That was amazing " we both giggled as we rest our foreheads together " we better head back to the house before they send a search party "I joked
