Like I said Aurora knew her dad was cheating on her mom that's why she resented him so much. it doesn't make the situation better that he cheated on her while undergoing chemotherapy.
it just makes aurora so mad that he would do such a thing, especially during a vulnerable time in their family's life. it's like he tries to ruin everything for aurora. first, he ruined volleyball and then her family but one thing he won't ruin is her summer.
Aurora was deep in her thoughts when Susannah walked out with her " famous " 4th of July cake. Belly was following close behind the blonde mom when she tripped and fell taking Susannah down with her.
Aurora immediately hopped up and went to help her mom and belly " bells are you okay? " Aurora asked concerned helping a drunk belly up. belly was going to respond when aurora heard her mother fussing at her dad
" Why don't you help belly to her room, so she can rest " Laurel suggests helping Aurora carry belly into the house
Aurora had decided that she would check on her mom after she was done with belly. As she walked toward Susannah's room she could hear faint talking
Without thinking, she barged into the room just in time to hear her mom confess to Laurel that her dad was cheating on her with his secretary
Laurel and Susannah spun around with wide eyes to see aurora standing in the doorway. nothing was said for a minute, no one knew what to say in this situation " Aurora... " Susannah started, "I think I walked in on something private so ill just see my way out, " Aurora said backing out of Susannah's room
Before Susannah even had a chance to stop aurora she was gone
Aurora walked out to the pool to see Conrad cleaning up the mess from earlier " Here let me help you with this " Aurora offered grabbing a trash bag. Aurora went to pick up the glass and pieces of the smashed cake from earlier
Both Conrad and Aurora were interrupted by their dad walking out " Hey, dad " Conrad says walking up to him " Oh Hey, did y'all get everything cleaned up? " Adam asked " Yeah, and Belly's upstairs with her dad " Aurora buts in
" Why'd you let her get so drunk? You're lucky she and your mom didn't get hurt " Adam turns towards his daughter " She didn't know she was drinking that much " Conrad jumps in trying to defend his sister
" Okay, what about you? You're the oldest, You're supposed to look out for the younger kids " Adam questions " Okay asshole maybe if you'd stop blaming your kids for one second you could see your son wanted to talk to you about something " Aurora exclaimed cutting her hand on the glass in the process
" Shit " Aurora curses grabbing a hold of her hand " Aurora, are you okay? " Conrad rushed towards his sister "it's not a big deal, it's just a little scratch " Aurora tried to explain " little scratch? Aurora if it was a little scratch then it wouldn't be bleeding like it is now " Conrad argues
Conrad then pulls aurora into the house and sat her down in the kitchen " So what was that about with dad, I thought you guys were good. " Conrad asked grabbing the med kit from under the sink
" We were until last summer " Aurora started " but it's fine, he said some words, I said some not nice words, and let's just say our last conversation wasn't the nicest " Aurora explained. Conrad could tell that aurora did not want to talk about the situation so he moved on to a different topic
" How are things going with belly? " Conrad smirked bringing up the brunette girl " things are fine? Expect the fact that she drunkenly told the deb girls and Cameron that we've kissed before " Aurora rants taking a deep breath
" Wait, you guys have kissed before? how come I've never heard anything about this missy? " Conrad exclaimed shocked at what he just heard " really that's the only part you heard out of that whole thing? did you not hear the part where she said that in front of her BOYFRIEND " Aurora says
" Yeah, Yeah, anyways tell me about this kiss " Conrad smiles looking at his sister " well to start it's kisses plural, and secondly it-- " Aurora was cut off by Susannah walking into the kitchen " Oh my GOD! what happened " Susannah exclaimed rushing toward her daughter
" Mom it's nothing, I just cut my hand on some glass. the cut should be healed in a few weeks " Aurora reassured " Well before you head off to watch the fireworks, I need to talk to you " Susannah says
" Alone! " Susannah says giving Conrad a hint that he should leave. Conrad puts his hands up in surrender backing out of the kitchen " We need to talk about what you heard earlier " Susannah started
" Mom it's alright, I already knew that dad was cheating on you " Aurora admitted " How did you- " Susannah started " last summer when I stay with dad instead of coming to cousins. I overheard him talking to someone about it " Aurora confesses
"That's why I resent him so much, mom. like how could he do that to us-- " Aurora's sobs cut off her sentence, Susannah immediately rushed to embrace her daughter. Aurora was so frustrated with her father, Like how much of a terrible person you have to be to do something like that.
" my sweet girl, I'm sorry that you had to carry this on your mind for so long " Susannah tries to comfort her daughter " don't worry about me mom, how are you feeling? " Aurora tried to get her mom to open up about the situation
" Listen I'm fine Lora, let's focus on a brighter subject," Susannah said " okay I have to go check on belly, we were supposed to watch the fireworks together," Aurora said letting go of her mother " Okay sweetheart, have fun! " Susannah winked at her daughter
Adam had a meeting in London so he left early! Thank God though, the only person that wanted him here was Jeremiah. Belly had just woken up from her drunken nap and headed downstairs to see Aurora resting on the couch
" You ready to watch the fireworks Lora? " Belly said catching Aurora's attention
" As ready as ill ever be " Aurora smiled grabbing Belly's hand
Belly had her arms wrapped around Aurora as Aurora laid on her chest. they were just watching the fireworks pop in the distance " So, does everyone hate me now? " Belly started " who could ever hate you bells " Aurora looks up at her
" I don't know, I just feel like I messed everything up, with you, with cam, with the deb girls " Belly rants " Belly, Listen to me, you didn't mess anything up! everyone will understand. I'm not mad at you, you were drunk " Aurora says rubbing circles on belly palm
" Belly, you don't know the effect you have on people " Aurora mumbles looking up at belly " effect? i don't know what your talking about " Belly stutters " Yes you do " Aurora said leaning closer to belly
Both of the girls leaned in before the were interrupted by a random firework knocking them out of their thoughts
What the two girls didn't notice was that a certain blonde curly headed boy was the one who fired the firework and interrupted their moment. the question is why did he do it?
