Part 15

Me, Eddie and Dustin are sitting in the back of the caravan with Robin as Steve and Nancy sit in the front, driving towards the Creel house. Everyone sits quietly as the music from the radio is playing in the background.

I look up at Robin who is sitting in front of me, "so you never really got Vecna?" I ask carefully, thinking of what the three of them told us when they got back from the upside down. She looks up at me and nods, "we got him but then he disappeared" she says and I raise an eyebrow a bit confused.

"Disappeared?" I ask and then she nods quickly, "yeah, just like Micheal Myers did in Halloween" she says knowing I would understand by explaining it with a movie reference. I lean back in the seat and look at her, "so uh, what about Max then?" I ask a bit worried, understanding that he can still get her.

Nancy turns around in her seat and looks at all of us in the back. I turn to look at Nancy with a worried look and then back at Robin again. "What? Is she hurt? Did we fail? No no Max is a fighter, she has to be okay" I say stressed and look back at Nancy again. Steve looks back at us in the rearview mirror trying to hide his worried expression.

Nancy quickly looks at Steve and then she starts talking, "we heard the clock strike a fourth time when we were in the house" she starts and my face drops at her words. She continues to explain a bit more of what happened but I stop listening and lean back in my seat again, starring off at nothing.

I feel Eddie place his hand on my thigh and I turn to look at him. "Are you okay?" He asks carefully and I slowly nod, not moving any muscles in my face. He puts his other hand on my cheek and gives me a kiss on my forehead, "everything is going to be okay" he whispers and I lean my head on his shoulder.

"Holy shit" Dustin says as he looks out of the window when we get close to the Creel house. I look out the window as well and I see multiple police cars and two ambulances. Steve parks the caravan on the side of the road and we all start to walk outside looking at everything going on.

We start walking towards the Creel house but then we get stopped by a police officer, "this is a crime scene son, you can't be here" he says and places a hand on my shoulder to stop me. I look up at him and then I see Erica standing next to Lucas by an ambulance. "But our friends are here, we need to know if they are okay or not" I say and look at the officer.

The officer looks at me and then at Lucas and Erica. "Alright, you can go but the rest of you stay here" he says and looks at the rest of us. "Thank you" I say and start walking towards Erica and Lucas.

"Are you guys okay?" I quickly say when I reach them. Lucas looks like he has been crying all night and about to break down any minute and Erica slowly nods while looking at her brother. Lucas doesn't say anything but looks over at the ambulance where the two ambulance workers are lifting in a board with a person on it.

I feel a hand place on my shoulder and Then I hear Steve start talking, "you should go with her, Sinclair" he says and Lucas turns to look at him. I look at Lucas and nod, agreeing with Steve. "She needs you right now" I say with a comforting tone and Lucas looks back at the ambulance who is almost ready to drive away. "We will come visit" Steve then says and Lucas nods before he walks over to talk to one of the ambulance workers.

Erica walks back to the caravan with us and we all wave bye to the ambulance when it starts driving away. I stop walking and look up at the others who are looking back at me confused, "what's wrong?" Nancy says and I feel the back of my neck. "I don't...I don't know" I say a bit confused as I feel my headache disappear. "My headache just disappeared" I say and look up at them, "everything just started feeling normal again, like almost as if everything got lighter" I say trying to explain what I'm feeling.
