Hogan:

Grown with anticipation crippling through me, we drive our way through crowds of people, partying through loud beats, until we finally make our mark outside of Bre's house.

Serge had been awfully quiet during our whole ride here. I don't really know what happened to him last night in the cinema. However, I could assume that it's probably bad since he hadn't been behaving as his normal self.

He also wouldn't say anything to me after we finished the date, which instantly sent worry through me since I didn't really want him to feel uncomfortable around them. I just feel that I tried so hard to catch up and finally talk again with Bre that I didn't even bother to check up on what he was feeling. It breaks me knowing I could've helped him figure out what was wrong, yet I still decided to ignore his signs.

"Are you sure you really want to go?" I asked him again.

Serge just looks at me from hearing my words, seemingly high, as he gives me a subtle huh before nodding.

Even though I have probably asked him that question for the hundredth time tonight, his answer still doesn't satisfy me; instead it just sends more concern coursing through my body.

I just sigh, trying to find comfort in his words as I pull his hand closer to mine and walk us to the house.

The music is loud and noises are clearly audible all around us. There are also cans of beer scattered in the living room, and some drunk people passed out, even though it's just 7:30. I could assume that they'd probably been here long before that or just didn't have anything to do other than to get drunk.

Blasts of rhythm pound through the walls as people dance from across the halls, evidently enjoying themselves. The house is mostly filled with seniors from our school. However, there are still some popular teens present who are in a grade lower than us.

My eyes try to search from all the different faces around us as my gaze finally lands on Bre.

She's sitting in the mini-bar with her friends next to her. Collier was not in sight, which made my feelings kind of lighter. Her gaze is drawn to us, and I can't stop the smile that forms on my lips as her eyes light up with excitement.

I take another glance at Serge to check on him, and my heart bursts from finally seeing his genuine smile again. I plant a soft kiss on his cheek, to ease his nerves as I pull him towards the place where Bre and her friends are sitting.

"Hey," I say, greeting them.

Bre's attention immediately switches to me and Serge as her eyes trek to examine us. Her eyes shine as she looks up at us and asks two of her friends to leave their seats to make them vacant.

We settle ourselves in the seats, with Serge beside me as we try to join in the conversation they are having.

Bre's two girl friends seem to be talking about the boys they find attractive in the party, whereas Yuri's flirting with a blonde girl, completely ignoring his girlfriend. It seems to be a normal thing for them because Aisha didn't even bat an eye when the girl sat on Yuri's lap.

"Do you guys want a drink?" Bre offers.

I shake my head, refusing her offer. I really planned to not drink anything tonight because I'm driving. Serge, on the other hand, has other plans though, because he immediately orders a tequila from the bar.

My eyes narrow while looking at him, searching for any signs that he's feeling uncomfortable already. However, he only rolls his eyes at me with a forced chuckle and leans towards me. "I'm fine, Hogan. I promise."
