Every summer since I was little, my family would drive up to Cousins. It was a unbreakable tradition that everyone loved.

I always looked forward to seeing the fishers. They were like our family.

We were on our way to the house and I couldn't help but think about all the things we would do this summer. Susannah always had something fun planned for us kids, even though we were all getting older.

"Hey do the three of you want anything from this gas station? I'm gonna go in to get a few things." My mom said from the back.

"Yeah I'll go." Belly responded.

"Sure." I added.

Steven shook his head, "I'm good."

As soon as we parked, belly and I sprinted out of the car into the gas station. We walked in and found our snacks, belly picked up some Cheetos and a cherry coke.

As she walked towards the cash register I could see the guy working checking her out. I laughed to myself and picked out my things.

"You know there's a bonfire tonight, you should come, maybe I'll introduce you to my friends." The guy said.

"Maybe..." belly said all smiley.

We walked out and continued our drive. I wondered if this year would be the same as the years before.

Conrad and I were the oldest, followed by jere and Steven. Then there was belly.

When belly was born, everything shifted. Steven and I were no longer the center of attention and our mom spent a lot more time with her.

As time went on, our relationship weakened. Steven was always with our dad so he wasn't concerned, but for me, it was different.

Belly and my mom started doing more mother-daughter activities, and I was never invited because "it was belly's special time." But whenever I wanted special time, she was "too busy" or "too tired."

So I just excepted it. Learned to be by myself, to not depend on others.
