Caged

Like a lion licking his lips from behind the bars of a cage. It would be a grave mistake to underestimate me. I can't be contained.

Keep an eye on me and don't make
a wrong move. You foolishly think I'm the one on display. But you're sorely mistaken. It's not me, it's you.

The hunger inside me is insatiable and tenacious. For me, it's not about eating. It's the thrill of the chase. I salivate as you watch me stalk my own prey.

It's tragic. You sit idle and watch as I eat. Now, you can only drool while I savor the feast.

The bars that surround me were built by years of envy and jealousy. Too bad you wasted all your time and your energy.

It looks like by you; the bars were perfectly placed. You locked yourself up with your resentment and hate.

I have nothing but kind actions and kind words left to say. Unlike you, I am free and it is you that is caged.
