"Mikey killed your mother y/n"
at that sheer moment, the only thing you wanted to do was get up and punch that scarred mouth for uttering such bullshits. how could he even try to play with the most sensitive topic of your life just like that?
but tied up body couldn't do much besides struggling and glare at him with enraged eyes.
sanzu saw how tears welled up in your inflamed eyes, rolling down one by one as you glared at him, ready to jump down his throat.
however, sanzu had more up his sleeves.
"I know you wanna murder me after what I said. but this is the truth, and I can prove it" you halted your struggling for a second, lips parted to say something but couldn't.
with terror-filled eyes you watched sanzu going through his phone again.
no no no no. you chanted mentally, heart rate increasing with each second passing by.
you'd rather live in a lie than know the cruel truth. even though you're sure sanzu is just playing with you and he's not speaking the truth, the fear of being proved wrong about mikey still scares you. it scares you because from the very beginning you have always doubted yourself– if you ever actually knew Mikey.
maybe you did not.
but despite everything, you can't see the love of your life, sano manjiro as the biggest villain of your life at the moment. not with all these blurry memories blazing through your head, not with all these uncertainties in your heart.
not with you losing your own self.
"sanzu, can you please stop? I don't wanna see your proof. I... I wanna go home..."
"home? you mean bonten?" sanzu paused whatever he was doing and snickered, looking down at you with pity and amusement. "do you even belong there?"
do I... you asked yourself the same thing. after being a mass murderer and a fucking psychopath where could you run off to anyway? if bonten wasn't your home then where do you belong to?
"you work under me sanzu, not the other way around for you to dare say that. so stop this bullshit and untie me"
"hmm here it is!" the pink mullet completely ignored you but you had no time to be mad at that since you had a bigger issue to face.
sanzu looked at you with a sinister smile, his eyes squinting as he turned the phone screen towards you.
"oh poor y/n. are you brave enough to watch this?" you are not and you know that very well, yet out of curiosity and sheer agitation, you focused on the screen.
your eyes enlarged when you saw the familiar room.
"yes this is the cctv footage of the living room of your mother– oops late mother's house"
you clenched your teeth from hearing that late word but you were more surprised than angry right now. "b-but how... weren't all the cctvs destroyed?"
"I'm mikey's right hand for a reason y/n-chan~" he beamed, watching your face turning panic-struck eventually.
you gulped the limp in your throat, it was hard to breathe as you anticipated for things to happen. you watched the empty living room, the familiar furniture, wooden floor and white walls gave you nostalgia. the favorite place for you to visit was definitely your mother's house. it was comforting to have your head on your mom's lap while she caressed your hair, asking you about your life. Besides her you had no one else you could call family, actually, you never felt the need to do so since she never gave you the space to think about that.
a mother's love was better than anything. even a significant other's love. that's what you believed until,
you lost that mother's love.
sometimes, you blamed her to leave you all alone, blame her for not putting up a fight with the person who killed her.
but right now perhaps you'll find out if she ever did try to save herself from getting killed. even though you're not ready, you can never be. even now you wanna throw the phone away and smash it so you won't have to see anything but sanzu won't let that happen.
you gulped thickly when your mother walked to the front door, you couldn't hear anything but most likely the doorbell rang for her to go there.
"please don't open the door..." you mumbled to yourself, tears whelming on the corners of your reddened eyes. "mom... don't please"
but she did.
and your heart dropped.
when you saw the familiar male entering in.
mikey.
"what is he doing there..."
"you'll know soon" sanzu answered your question that you didn't pay attention to. all of your concentration was on the screen. now witnessing how your mother was yelling at the silver haired male who had a blank look on his face after entering.
your fists clenched when you saw Mikey closing the door and then turn to your mother with a smile, as he walked in making your mother step back.
you flinched when your mother slapped the male hard across his face, Mikey faced the other side for a while before facing her again. you bite down on your lips fearing the worst scenario. however, you felt a wave of solace washing over you when,
Mikey got on his knees, bowing to your mother.
he was saying something you couldn't hear, probably words of apology that your mother listened to with an infuriated face.
it warmed your heart to see how mikey bowed to your mother. something he has never done before, but just for you he did that.
there was a long moment of just your mother standing and Mikey bowing until the silver-haired male slowly lifted his head, staring up at your mother who said something so slowly you couldn't even notice she said something.
but whatever she said appeared to trigger something in the silver-haired male because what happens next turned your body cold in dread.
Mikey stood up and within a blink he grabs your mother by her throat, slamming her against the wall.
