I woke up to someone shaking me.

"Adeline, wake up." Someone said loudly.

I sat up quickly, feeling my heart racing.

"Finally," Daxton said with a smile, "We've been trying to wake you up for, like, 5 minutes."

"Sorry." I mumbled, rubbing my eyes a little.

"It's ok." Noah said, also smiling.

"You need to start getting ready for school." Charlie said, "Come down when you're ready."

And with that, the three of them left together.

I sat on the bed for a minute, trying to wake myself up.

I've never had good reactions to sedatives, and which ever kind Hunter gave me last night made my head hurt.

Not to mention I was still exhausted.

Choosing to ignore it, I got out of bed and started getting ready for the day.

Once I was ready, I went downstairs to see Ace sitting on the couch in a suit, playing on his phone.

I sat next to him, seeing him smile.

"Good morning." He said happily.

"Good morning." I said quietly, trying not to act tired.

"Are you feeling ok?" He asked, tilting his head slightly.

I nodded with a small smile which made my head hurt more.

He nodded slowly, still not seeming convinced.

Soon, he had to leave for work, so I said bye to him, and stayed on the couch.

Just as I was about to fall asleep again, someone sat next to me, making me jump slightly.

"Are you ok?" Hunter asked, making me nod slightly.

"You don't look good." He said, putting his hand on my forehead.

I just closed my eyes again, sinking further into the soft cushions of the couch.

"Are you cold or anything?" He asked, seeming a little concerned.

"A little hot." I mumbled, wanting nothing more than to sleep.

"I'm going to look at your hand, ok?" He said, gently taking my left hand into his.

He took the brace off my hand, and gently unwrapped the gauze, looking at my gross red and swollen palm.

I didn't see any stitches which was weird, but there were stapples; at least 10.

"Does it hurt at all?" Hunter asked, gently touching the area around the stapples.

"A little." I said quietly.

"I'll be right back." He said before standing and leaving the room.

I stayed on the couch, keeping my knees pulled close to my chest and resting my head on the back of the couch.
