Ghost of Us (Part One)

Y/N's POV

It's been weeks since my first day at the beach stand, since my small fight with Chase. We haven't fought since that day, but we haven't entirely made up, either. He wants to go on like nothing's happened, I want to get to the bottom of why it happened in the first place. I want to figure out what he's not telling me.
I go back to the end of my shift that night, my only lead being that the fans are involved. He wouldn't give me anymore information than that, no matter how much I begged.
The most we've done since that night is kiss. Whenever he fed, he made sure any pressure was minimal, no longer attempting to turn me on. It almost feels like we're broken up, like we're just a ghost of what we used to be together.
He's not the only one keeping secrets, though. Not anymore.
During the past few weeks, I've become good friends with Jaden. I've discussed some of the issues I've had with Chase (granted, not in detail. He doesn't need to know how dry our relationship has been lately) and he came to the conclusion that maybe being so close all the time was putting a damper on our relationship - Chase and I's relationship, that is. So I've saved up the money I earn from my job and am officially moving out of Chase's house and into Jaden's apartment complex. He's apparently friends with the owner and pulled some strings to expedite the paper signing and move-in process.
Today's the day Chase finds out.
